La mejor compañía para trabajar

Saludos queridas madres y padres de Hive, hace unos días estaba conversando por whatsapp con unos amigos muy queridos a los cuales conocí estudiando artes en la universidad, solo dos terminamos la carrera pero absolutamente todos no dedicamos a algo relacionado con el arte o la artesanía bien sea de modo profesional o como actividad independiente, vivimos muy ocupados y se nos hace difícil coincidir al mismo tiempo para conversar, pero vino a la colación un comentario que generó toda una serie de reflexiones entre nosotros, pues todos pudimos confirmar que aunque muchas personas puedan ver como que “jugamos a trabajar” siempre estaremos orgullos de decir que es al contrario pues “trabajamos jugando”, porque el arte es como un juego no porque sea poco serio, sino porque es una actividad de disfrute, creativa, recreativa y al vez es libre, una expresión de lo que somos y no podemos dejar de ser, en este sentido para mi lo que mas disfruto es poder tener la libertad de trabajar incluso acompañada de mi hijo, poder ver algo divertido con él, reírnos y compartir nuestros pensamientos mientras estoy tejiendo, él ya sabe tejer y entiende la complejidad de las cosas que hago, me brinda su apoyo pero sobre todo me acompaña de un modo en que siento que podemos divertimos un rato juntos aunque yo siga trabajando.

Greetings dear mothers and fathers of Hive, a few days ago I was chatting on WhatsApp with some very dear friends whom I met studying arts at university, only two of us finished our degree but absolutely all of us do not dedicate ourselves to something related to art or crafts either professionally or as an independent activity, we live very busy lives and it is difficult for us to coincide at the same time to talk, but a comment came up that generated a whole series of reflections among us, because we were all able to confirm that although many people may see it as if we “play at working” we will always be proud to say that it is the opposite because “we work playing”, because art is like a game not because it is not serious, but because it is an enjoyable, creative, recreational activity and at the same time it is free, an expression of what we are and we cannot stop being, in this sense for me what I enjoy the most is being able to have the freedom to work even accompanied by my son, being able to watch something fun with him, laugh and share our thoughts while I am knitting, he already knows how to knit and understands the complexity of things that I do, he gives me support but above all he accompanies me in a way that I feel we can have fun together even though I continue working.

No siempre el puede acompañarme, pero a veces en días como hoy domingo después que hace todas sus asignaciones escolares, nos ponemos al día con algunos de los animes que estamos viendo, por ejemplo Dr Stone y One Piece, se que si alguien nos viera pensaría que estamos “perdiendo el tiempo”, pero para mi y estoy segura que para mi hijo también estos son momentos de calidad, además de que ciertamente estoy produciendo más de lo que cualquier persona creería, no solo mis manos están ocupadas en el tejido están criando a un niño tanto física como mentalmente, porque estoy atenta a debatir ideas con él, explicarle conceptos y cosas que el podría no entender al principio de alguna de las escenas o discursos del anime, siento que juntos tenemos un buena conexión en este sentido y valoro cada momento que puedo compartir con mi hijo.

He can’t always join me, but sometimes on days like today, Sunday, after he’s done all his homework, we catch up on some of the anime we’re watching, for example Dr. Stone and One Piece. I know if someone saw us they’d think we were “wasting time,” but for me, and I’m sure for my son too, these are quality moments. Plus, I’m certainly producing more than anyone would believe. Not only are my hands busy knitting, I’m raising a child both physically and mentally because I’m attentive to discussing ideas with him, explaining concepts and things that he might not understand at first during some of the anime scenes or speeches. I feel like we have a good connection together in this sense, and I value every moment I get to share with my son.

No dejamos nunca de lado nuestras responsabilidades, Rafael va excelente en sus estudios y siempre estamos al pendiente de que no se retrase en nada y controlo bien lo que el ve, a veces la gente piensa que soy muy dura porque solo le permito jugar en la tableta una hora al día o porque no tenemos televisión en la casa, pero créanme que aunque limito mucho el tiempo que expone a las pantallas, también procuro que cuando lo haga sea algo de que podamos compartir y hasta ahora hemos estado bien, me siento feliz el poder tener este tipo de dinámicas especiales con él y de algún modo volver a ser niña a su lado sin dejar de ser madre.

We never leave aside our responsibilities, Rafael is doing excellent in his studies and we are always aware that he doesn't fall behind in anything and I control well what he watches, sometimes people think that I am very strict because I only allow him to play on the tablet for an hour a day or because we don't have a television at home, but believe me that although I greatly limit the time he exposes to screens, I also try to make sure that when I do it it is something that we can share and until now we have been good, I feel happy to be able to have this type of special dynamics with him and in some way to be a child again by his side without ceasing to be a mother.
