Our mid-week outreach and mentoring outing

Hello everyone, trust you all had an amazing week. It's been a week filled with uncertainties, learning new things, meeting new people and working on my goals. I hope you were all able to meet your expectations for the week.

On Wednesday I once again had the opportunity to go for our marketing outreach and mentoring of hive newbies at the University of Lagos. Our local guide @beauty197 reached out to me on WhatsApp to discuss plans for the day as we had earlier agreed to make out time on some Wednesdays to create awareness about the hive platform in University of Lagos (UNILAG) and other parts of our immediate environment.

We had met with some newbies last week and three of the students we spoke to signed up and later introduced a couple more who also did the same on subsequent days and were added to the group on WhatsApp where they are being mentored. @beauty197 made plans to meet them again to enlighten them more about how to navigate the platform and perform other tasks seeing their eagerness to explore.

We left home at midday and met at our usual stop where we boarded the first bus to our destination. On getting there a couple of them were already waiting and the meeting started immediately as they had other plans for the day we also still had plans of reaching out to more people.

The discussion for the day included proper knowledge amd navigation of the platform, how to make posts, get pictures for their posts, the importance of following rules of each community on hive and some other areas they needed help with. They also had questions to ask and all were addressed. I benefited from the discussions because I was also still quite new to some areas of the hive platform. I also happened to be making a post before I left home and @beauty197 showed me some new things I should include in my posts and made other corrections for me which I took note of.

I had the opportunity to approach some students too, one of them picked interest in what he heard and after more explanation from Beauty, he signed up and is well on his way to receiving mentorship as well. I really enjoy the opportunity to share something amazing and beneficial to everyone because the more I share this with others, I hone my marketing and communication skills that help in other aspects of life. I also really want to put in more in exploring and enjoying the hive platform as time allows.

We wanted to reach more people in the campus with hive, unfortunately @beauty's phone had some charging issues so we had to o discontinue and we got some refreshment before heading back to our area of residence. It was a very sunny day and we were quite exhausted.

We visited BI Beauty home to get hair extensions. I noticed athe shop owner is always fascinated and asks questions whenever I do the transaction that allows us get discounts for our shopping or services rendered. Our local guide @beauty197 promised to return and help her get started with her introduction activities on hive as a business owner in the spendhbd platform. I also got some items for breakfast the next morning from Bokku mart. I am always grateful that I get discounts shopping with #spendhbd which enables me shop even more. I will forever be grateful for this opportunity and even having listed shops that enables us buy from them.
