Introducing hive to campus newbies and shopping with HBD
Yesterday was another day to share the hive benefits to newbies. Our local guide had shared with me her plans of going to a higher institution of learning in Lagos state where we live to do a hive outreach, so we met at the agreed bus stop to board a vehicle to our destination.
Before getting there, we had planned to talk to people in groups in order to reach out to more people. However, when we got there, we did not meet people in groups most likely because of the scorching sun. We walked to different areas in the campus for a while and got to the sports center where there was also a shopping complex. Occasionally, people went in and out of the sports center. We tried yo talk to some who did not feel inclined to listen to what we had to share.
Eventually some other students started to show interest. The first was a group of boys approached by @beauty197, though they were just amused at first, they started to show more interest as she spoke on. They didn't have time to sign up immediately but a couple showed interest and asked questions after which they dropped their contacts for further discussions. Some other students showed interest and got signed up immediately.
I also had the opportunity to engage with some students to share insights about the hive and ecency platform which gives them privilege to shop with discounts, post their content, blog, connect with others and share daily experiences within diverse online communities.
In my presentation, I aimed at highlighting the platform's versatility and how it serves as a powerful tool for self-expression, learning, and community building. We even shared some experiences we personally had in various communities and how these impacts us individually.
Some of the students we met were willing to spend some time learning more about what we had to share and we showed them the platforms interface which was easy to navigate by both beginners and experienced content writers to publish blog post, share their thoughts, engage with like-minded people from various communities and stay informed on topics they are passionate about.
Most of the students we reached out to were enthusiastic about the potentials of the platform and got signed up by the local guide @beauty197. We then went into a shop in the complex where phones and accessories are sold. A presentation about #spendhbd was given and they also learned about how they could have their shop listed in order that customers could purchase items with HBD from them. The shop attendant was welcoming and asked some questions about HBD. He referred us to the accountant who was unavailable at the moment and we promised to return some other time to get them on board. It was at first a slow day in the campus but we achieved a lot and got newbies to learn and start experiencing the goodness of hive.
It was time to leave the University and head home, I needed some items so on alighting from the bus we went to @Graclyn household items and got some cleaning materials after which we visited @chiefomart where I purchase some items including creams, toiletries, cereal and milk. After shopping, we were already exhausted ad headed home. A Wednesday well spent.
It was not easy at all, but am happy we succeeded in onboarding three people, thank you for the time and confidence you have on hive and spendhbd project.
Thanks for the opportunity. We go again soon
Next week Wednesday

You guys did a great job, onboarding 3 people to hive . Kudos to you both ❤️
Nice one. The school setting is actually a great place to find people who can bring valuable content to hive. Well done 👏 to you and mentor @beauty197
