Wednesday Walk - The Broken Boat

avatar

This afternoon a workmate of mine named Noni asked me to go sunset photo hunting at a beach located in Gampong Jawa which is part of the Banda Aceh city. The distance from our office is about 4 kilometers and we went there by motorbike.

Arriving at the location, we did not find the sun at all because the sky was covered by cloudy clouds or better known as nimbostratus. Despite not finding what we were looking for, we didn't go straight back.

Not finding what we were looking for, I looked around and found a large fishing boat that was docking. The position was quite creepy to me, as the supports of these boats were coconut tree trunks constructed on an unstable sand substrate.

The physique of this boat looked very bad because there were so many holes in the hull. In addition, the wood that is the main material of this ship also looks rotten in several parts.

To my knowledge, this type of vessel is generally used by the local community to catch yellowfin tuna, mackerel, and other pelagic fish with the help of trawling gear. As for the size of this vessel itself, it seems to be 50-60 GT (Gross Tonnage).

I also found debris from a vessel of the same material around this boat. What I don't know is whether this debris is part of the vessel I saw or whether it came from another vessel.

All these pictures were taken using Nikon Z50
and processed through Adobe Lightroom

I agree with you, it would take a long time for the repairment and I hope I can take a look at it after it before it finished.
You're welcome and thank you for the support :)
