A ladybug on my shirt / Una mariquita en mi camisa

Hello friends, I greet you all and I wish you to be always full of joy and health. Today I am going to show you what I did on a shirt I bought some time ago, I liked the model but when I had it on I had the image of a nurse, so it looks quite simple and that's why I wanted to give it a little color. I looked for several images and the one I liked was this one of a ladybug on a leaf, I like insects very much and then I said to myself: I am going to embroider this ladybug, which is said to be a symbol of happiness.

Hola amigos, los saludo a todos y les deseo que estén siempre llenos de alegría y salud. Hoy les voy a presentar lo que hice sobre una camisa que compré hace un tiempo, me gustó el modelo sólo que teniéndola puesta tenía imagen de enfermera, por lo simple se parece bastante y por eso quise darle un poco de color. Busqué varias imágenes y la que me gustó fue esta de una mariquita sobre una hoja, me gustan mucho los insectos y entonces me dije: voy a bordar esta mariquita, que se dice es símbolo de la felicidad.

The ladybugs appear mostly in the spring, they are very striking and very pretty, with beautiful colors. The first thing I did was to draw the image on a piece of white paper.

Las mariquitas aparecen más que todo en la primavera, son muy llamativas y muy bonitas, con lindos colores. Lo primero que hice fue dibujar la imagen en un trozo de papel blanco.

Then I placed the drawing with the carbon paper underneath on the shirt and with a pencil I outlined the drawing with some pressure so that it would be printed on the fabric.

Luego coloqué el dibujo con el papel carbón por debajo sobre la camisa y con un lápiz delineé el dibujo con algo de presión para que quedara estampado en la tela.

I did this very carefully so as not to get the fabric dirty, it stained a little bit, but fortunately when I finished the embroidery I washed that part and the stain disappeared.

Esto lo hice con mucho cuidado para no ensuciar la tela, se manchó un poquito, pero afortunadamente al terminar el bordado lavé esa parte y la mancha desapareció.

I started embroidering first the leaf with stem stitch (you can search on youtube how to do it), the whole drawing is embroidered with this type of stitch.

Empecé a bordar primero la hoja con punto tallo (pueden buscar en youtube cómo se hace), todo el dibujo se borda con este tipo de punto.

For the whole motif I used DMC embroidery threads, colors: black, red, grass green and yellow. I also used two white beads for the ladybug's eyes.

Para todo el motivo utilicé hilos de bordar de la marca DMC, colores: negro, rojo, verde grama y amarillo. Y también usé dos mostacillas blancas para los ojos de la mariquita.

Friends, don't think I did it in one day, I just embroidered for a while every day as a break from other occupations, in total I finished it in 4 days 😊.

Amigos, no crean que lo hice en un día, sólo bordaba un rato cada día como descanso de otras ocupaciones, en total lo terminé en 4 días 😊.

I did it with a lot of emotion, little by little it was taking shape and seeing it finished was worth the effort, I think it turned out beautiful, what do you think?

Lo hice con mucha emoción, poco a poco iba tomando forma y verlo terminado valió el esfuerzo, pienso que quedó bello, ¿ustedes qué opinan?
