Best Farming Practice For Rearing Piglets🐷🐖 Inorder To Produce Quality Pigs, Produce Quality Parent Stock And Maximize output.

There are so many things you need to do and practices you need to follow in order to produce quality pigs, by rearing good piglets.

This is really important because many new farmers start with piglets(weaners) which just stopped breastfeeding. So if proper care is not taken, most of the piglets will suffer from malnutrition and disease which could death and loss in business. So it is really important to follow this best practices that I will list in this post.
As a pig farmer with years of experience in animal farming and pig farming, here are the practices I recommend:

1. Spacing
   Proper spacing is important in the pig farming industry. This is because pigs produce a lot of body heat so spacing is required in order to maximize output. This will also enable the piglets to move freely and feed well.
   
   

2. Cleaning
   Cleaning the feeders especially is important in order to prevent diseases and help the gain nutrition. Always make sure to remove leftover foods and replace them with new feeds. This will ensure that the pigs gain proper and required nutrition.

3. Use proper and highly nutritious food
   The feed administered to pigs should be highly nutritious. Knowing the right feed mixture is important.
   This should comprise of
   -Spent grain-from brewed products.
   

-Palm Kernel Chaff(PKC)

-Charcoal

Charcoal is really important in order to reduce the acidity of the feed and maintain balance.
This feed components should be mixed in a ratio 2:1:1 for five piglet.

1. Mixing feeds properly
   Mix the feed components properly in order for them to combine properly. This i really important so that all components to b fully combined.
   

2. Monitor the piglets
   Always make sure as a Farmer to monitor the piglets feeding process. This will help you to identify piglets that are not feeding well and administer special care.
   
   

By doing this it will help to maximize output and yield good return and will help to produce good parent stock and expand the farm.
