Inuke’s guide to success

“Hey!! Whats up?” inuke asked me.
“Nothing. Just thing about the financial post that promised last week but fail to deliver.” I replied.
“Ah!! So you are celebrating I am a “failure” day?” inuke airquoted.
“And now I am about to be lectured by another one.”

“Oh!! Come on. Its just a post you missed. Thats all, why feel gloomy for such a thing. You can have the post done tomorrow, if not day after that. Whats with the EMO vibes.” inuke asked.
“Oye!! I am not the down.” I replied.
“Buddy, I am you. You reek of sadness. What is it?” Inuke asked.
“Ok!! I will tell you but please take this a little seriously.”
“Can’t promise, but go ahead,” inuke nudged me.

“So, you remember the goal we set for this year. Right?” I asked.
“Not exactly, which one you are talking about?” inuke replied.
“About being an active player on the crypto and hive platform. Hitting the 5K HP hive goal and my fitness goal, everything feels like slipping away and I am not able to do anything about it.” I replied.
“So?”
“So?? I am not even sure if you are the correct person to discuss this matter.”
“Talk to me, therapies are expensive. Plus I heard the doctors from the covidbatches are now joining the force.” inuke gave me another push.
“Theek hain bhai, I dont feel like writing anymore.” I spilt out my thoughts.
Silence filled the room. The only sound was of Ceiling fan. Inuke didn't say anything, but the look on his face wasn't one of shock but of confusion. His eyes demanded an explanation from me. And I provided.
“Listen, the goal of the 5K HP by the year end is impossible. Currently, I am at 3300HP, 1700 HP short. And there is only 4 months remaining and even if I am writing daily, I can only reach up to 4K maybe 4.1K, reaching 5K at this point is impossible for me. So why waste time on a failed project, when I can focus on something else and get that done?” I expressed my thoughts.
“Hmm, I totally agree. So are you willing to let go of writing?” inuke asked. He knows how much I love writing.
“Nope, I am planning on taking a break and coming back stronger. And will try to take the crown next year.”
“Ok and in this break what will you be doing?”
“I will focus on my other goals and try to achieve that. That way, I will have something by the end of the year and I won't be a complete failure.” I tried justifying my action plan.
“I dont think that it's going to work here.”
“How come?”
“Have you seen the cricketers who make miraculous comebacks in the games, after being out of the game for 2-3 years?”
“Bingo, that's my plan. I will take a break and will be back bigger and badder.”
“But do you know what they do in that 2-3 break?”
“They heal???” I replied, doubting my own answer.
“They practise and practise and practise, because practice is the only thing that can bring them back in the game. And now do you think you can take a break of 4months doing something else and be successful at writing stories and more. You are mistaken my friend. If you want to be successful or have a chance at winning, you have to keep going. Success isn't all about winning, but it's about finishing that Journey you set your sails on.”
