Should be restricted within a budget range

It’s already December 12, 2025, and the last month of the year is known as a festival month for many countries. Again, in some countries it’s not a festival month, but it’s a month of holidays, and during that time people love to visit different places and arrange various kinds of family functions or something else. It doesn’t matter if it’s a festival, adventure, family function or something else, it’s directly connected to finance as finance plays the most important role in those occasions. That’s the reason some people end up spending too much and broke in the first month of the year.

Celebrating December is not a bad thing and in case of festivals, there is no reason to refuse. It’s not a wise thing to deny the happiness that comes with December because we may regret it if we do so. But at the same time, it’s also necessary to check the financial things in a balanced way, otherwise, we will face the negative consequences of it from next month. And the inflation has been striking badly in recent years and that’s the reason we can’t be careless in any kind of situation. In fact, we can’t afford to do so. It’s wise to keep everything within the budget range. But how to manage?

December never comes to us all of a sudden. We have 11 months to prepare for December. Most of us don’t take it seriously and that’s the reason we need to suffer in the end. December can cost us a good amount of money, arranging it within one or two months is not so easy but if we try to arrange the funds for December in the remaining month of the year, it won’t be difficult. We can set a budget for spending in December and later we can divide it into 11 parts and save the money in the remaining 11 months. It won’t give us too much pressure on us at the same time.

In December, I saw some people who said to focus on enjoying the moments. Money can be earned through hard work, but the moments can’t be recreated in the future, even if I have lots of money later and that’s why they recommend not being stingy with money in December. I also agree with them on some conditions. If the situation demands me 5-15% extra, it can be understandable, and I won’t be stingy in that case but if it requires 50/60% extra, I can’t agree with it because to arrange the extra money, I won’t be able to enjoy daily life well for the next 4/5 months. I believe that if one month of enjoyment costs me 4/5 months of suffering, it’s not ok in my opinion. It’s not logical in any sense. Not mathematically and nor emotionally.

I believe that, for celebrating December, it’s not worth borrowing money from others when we know it will be very difficult to manage the fund later. If we have tons of money, it’s ok to celebrate December in a grand way but when I can’t afford it, I need to restrain myself with a simple celebration because it can help us to protect our money and keep things within budget. If I can’t afford to manage a simple celebration, in that case I should let it go, I mean, there is nothing wrong with not celebrating one year. For a greater purpose we need to learn to let to go sometimes, as we need to make decisions based on our economic condition.

On many occasions, I've seen people who travel for the holiday and return empty-handed, starting afresh again in January. Why we want to enjoy the holiday, we shouldn't overspend because others are spending. We should be able to spend according to our own financial capability.
