Rehab centers, a way to convert criminal into asset

Humans are the most mysterious creatures on earth. The mind of each human is different, and the mindset of a human can be changed by a single incident, which acts as a trigger. So at any stage of life, a change of mindset is a very possible thing, and it can happen to anyone, but that kind of thing happened in a few cases.

To establish peace, we created various kinds of laws, and violating those considered crimes. Crime can be anything like murder, fraud, or stealing. Based on crime, criminals receive the punishment according to law. But in several cases, criminals are ordered to keep them in rehab centers. Every prisoner is not the same, so every criminal is not sent to the rehab center.

I am living in Bangladesh, and my country is an overpopulated country. The poverty rate is very high, and naturally, the rate of time is at an extreme level. Murder, rape, hijacking, and stealing are very common things and almost happen every day. Behind all the crime, there are two most significant reasons, and those are poverty and another one is the greed in humans. In cases of crime, people choose to do it for their survival, which means they are first; otherwise, some people do it intentionally for their greedy desires.

Now the question is: Is there any necessity for a rehab center for criminals? It's a controversial topic, but I think most of the people still don't know it's not for every criminal. Criminals such as murderers who committed murder intentionally and had no mental issues are not allowed to go to rehab centers, and I think they don't deserve it either. But criminals like fraudster and robbers are allowed to be kept in rehab centers, but that kind of thing happens in rare cases considering my country's situation.

In my country, rehab centers are mostly for those criminals who are not mature, meaning below 18. Many kids become criminals before they mature. They don't know what is right and what is wrong. They actually grow up with that kind of mentality. Most criminals don't turn into criminals overnight. The process of becoming a criminal starts at an early age. The reasons behind this are mostly poverty, frustration, parental issues, and improper guidelines. Again, some can be criminally influenced by others. If most of them received proper guidelines and instructions, they may not have turned into criminals. So in this case, they chose this way because of their immature decision.

In rehab centers, they can receive education, which may help them gain knowledge about what is right and what is wrong. Skill development type programs also occur there, and it is very helpful for anyone to do something in life to earn money, and in that way, the issues of poverty can be decreased. Personality development programs also exist in rehab centers. If one person becomes educated and mature and, at the same time, has some skills which are helpful to earn, why does he need to commit crime?

I believe that they have the right to live a free life if they can learn lesson from their past mistakes. In fact, it is a very much possible thing, and it happens in reality. Rather than keeping them in prison, it's more beneficial to convert them into an asset for a country. I believe that seeking freedom and a beautiful life is something humans can change, no matter how difficult it is. So I think I'm from a rehab center where those criminals can reflect on themselves, make them good humans, and live a better life. Additionally, they can set an example of transformations from bad to good, which can be inspiring for others.

In the case of those people who choose to be criminals after maturity, they don't deserve any kind of sympathy from anyone. I don't agree to send them in rehab center because it's very difficult for them to change themselves. I think the punishment system is required. I wish you and others knew how cruel the law can be for criminals. It naturally creates fear, and people will try not to do any crime.

I think a rehab for even those above 18, they too deserve a second chance.

I don't think so because the above 18 people are well enough to understand the situation moderately at least and after that, the crime is the result of their choice and they should be punished otherwise law will be nothing more than sarcasm. Unless there are any mental issues I think nobody deserves the chance to go rehab center and doesn't deserve a second chance.

Rehab centers if truly functional with the right policies can effectively turn criminals to assets.

Awesome write-up, kudos 👏

If the right person goes to a rehab center then it's effective and good for us but it will be a waste if the wrong person is kept there.
Thank you for appreciating me.

For me, i believe frustration doesn't depend on the age of a person. Sometimes circumstances of.life makes people do certain things that they didn't think they would do in this life time.

I believe rehab should be opened to anyone who's accustomed to positive change.

I don't think anyone is allowed there is a good thing. For immature people it's good but those people who commit crimes intentionally after getting mature deserve punishment. I don't want to see mercy for a criminal who chooses to be a criminal.

Rehab centres are sometimes good, but the real truth is that we all can't know the heart of a human, they can prover to be a hard person, but deep down within the , they are just soft and normal, and on the other side, we have people that proves to be soft and gentle, but deep down, they are wicked...

That's the real trouble and if they came out from prison, then they will create chaos. That is the reason for what I think only kids should be allowed in rehab centre.
