Agriculture, the future of a country

Food gives us energy, and we need food to survive. It’s impossible to think about life without food. Agriculture plays the most important role in ensuring the food security of a country. In every country, the production from the agriculture sector is not enough to fulfill the demand of the country, but it has been seen that a country mostly depends on its own production and imports the remaining food to fulfill the demand.

Farmers play the most important role in the agriculture sector. They are the real fighters of a country, as they are the ones who ensure our food security, but their lifestyle is the most difficult one. They work hard and give their best for us, but they lead a terrible life because their financial condition remains bad as they don’t get their deserved value for their crops. No farmers want to see their children as farmers because of it also. Moreover, in the current time everyone is serious about education, and after completing education, most people are interested in desk jobs.

Very few people are interested in farming, additionally, many are leaving the occupation of farming. At the current time, it’s not a major issue, but it’s an alarming situation for a country because if it continues, then in the future their food production will decrease a lot, and for food, we need to depend on other countries as we will need to import food from there. Other countries will be capable of controlling us by stopping food imports. As an independent country, each country should not rely on other countries because nobody knows what kind of situation will appear in the future. And it’s not a wise idea to depend on other countries.

I don’t blame those who prefer a desk job after getting educated, but if everyone goes on the way, who will produce food for us? One thing to remember is that we need food to survive. If there is not food for us, then what’s the meaning of earning huge money, as money won’t be enough to ensure food for us? I think if technology (such as using robots for farming) can help to produce more food for us, then it’s good, but it will be best if the agricultural sector can be converted into a profitable sector of a country, and it will make people interested in the sector.

Suppose in my country the fisheries sector is one of the most profitable sectors, and it allows to generate good profit. As a result, in the last few decades, with the help of aquaculture development, production has increased multiple times, and there are many investors in the fisheries sector. Now my country is one of the capable ones in fish production, and each year the fisheries sector makes significant contributions to the national economy by exporting fish to other countries. I think if the agriculture sector can be converted into a profitable sector, then there will be a lot of investors for it, and it will be capable enough to fulfill our demand of food. In fact, we may earn some more money by exporting some food.

To make it possible, technological support is needed, and at the same time, the government should take the necessary steps to develop the agricultural sector to convert it into a profitable sector. The government also needs to focus on educating the farmers because if they get knowledge about farming, it will help them to utilize the land and bring out the maximum production from there. It will naturally improve their livelihood, and at the same time, it will increase production. We need to remember that we will benefit if the agriculture sector develops.
