4 working days may not be beneficial
The weekend is the most anticipated time for workers because it’s the time when they can live for themselves as they don’t have any official tasks to do. We need food to survive, and money is needed to buy it and to earn money we need to do some work, and that’s quite a normal thing. Most of us work to earn money, and we receive salary at the end of each month.
Weekend time we remain pressure-free and enjoy some time with our family. In most of the country, there are five working days and two days for the weekend. I am quite sure that most of the people, especially the workers, will be very happy if the working days are reduced to four days, but will it be a good thing. Let’s discuss it.
From one perspective, it’s good because it will allow us to spend more quality time with family members. It’s just a possibility because in the current time people make it difficult to enjoy quality time with family members because the majority of family members may choose to spend time with digital devices, and in that case, four working days will not be effective. But still, it will allow us to spend more time as we want, which can give us satisfaction and may boost our work activity.
As it allows us to give three days as weekends, it may help us to generate some extra money using the time. Three days is a huge time, and I am sure in such kinds of situations there will be some money generating source for us, and based on skills, it can be an opportunity for those who are experts in multiple skills. But at the same time, it’s a risk also because if one knows only one skill, then it will not be so effective for them.
It will naturally create an impact on the total productivity or output of a nation, and decreasing productivity is not good for the national economy. And everyone needs to bear the result of the economic loss of a country.
The bosses of workers are not fools, and they won’t agree with anything that is not beneficial for them. If the working day is reduced to four days, then they may decrease the salary of the workers, and it will not be a good thing. In such a situation, workers may not be able to cope with the monthly expenses, and they will be forced to in search of another job. It will not be possible for everyone. If they get the opportunity also to work for the extra three days, then it’s an advantage and disadvantage at the same time because in such a situation they need to work all day. It may affect spending quality time with family members. Moreover, they are humans, not robots, who can work all day, and they are not money machines either. Again, continuously working all day of the week must make them weak, as proper rest will not be possible. Various kinds of health issues may arise, and it will be quite an expected situation of working continuously.
In case someone chooses to take three days as the weekend, they may suffer a financial crisis. So from both sides, I think it’s not a wise idea but if it’s possible by giving the same salary then I think it will be a superb idea and everyone will be happy.

Bosses will never go for this, they will fight it with everything they have. But if it does end up happening, they'll make sure the employee makes up for the lost day just as well.
Hehe, that's why they are the boss and at any cost, they won't be ready to bear loss. If necessary, they will create new rules for employees.
No employer wants to be cheated so for the fact workers are not working on Friday there is every possibility there would be a salary slash so I rather just work for five days than have my salary slashed. 🤣
That's the point and I think most of people are not ready for it. In fact, bosses will not allow to reduce the working days.
I lovely start with you have a dynamic angle here, although I think it's all about Time management and nature of the Job because overtime pay will still be in existence.
My own way of viewing this, by the way I'm still schooling; aside factory workers and other working category who earns wages which is based by output or a hybrid state of time and output, most workers don't actually work exactly 9 hours daily and reduce their workday while applying good management will actually lead to productivity and more money for the economy as a whole as positive energy will radiate and proper and effective use of time according to company policy will be in place.
On the other hand I haven't truly studied the nature of wage earners or the hybrid state to offer a solution. On a wild guess I will state that such companies still operate the same 9-5 but the 5 day shouldn't be compulsory and as such does that work earns the 5 day and vice versa.
There are many assumptions and nobody can exactly say what will happen if the working day is reduced to four days.
Whatever you stated is logical and I agree with your statement.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
