"18 Again"- Some glimpse of reality {review}

In every relationship, there are issues, and those issues need to be solved to find balance in life. The relationship between family members, like between partners, and the relationship between parents and children are very precious, and everyone wants to balance those relationships at any cost. But sometimes balancing is not so easy, and that creates misunderstanding, which can create distance from family members.

You must be thinking why I am saying this all of a sudden. It's because today I have finished watching a K-drama named "18 Again." There are a total of 16 episodes in that drama, and each episode is approximately 1 hour. I don't love to mention the actor's or actress's name in a review because, for me story matters the most. By the way, don't worry, I am not going to share spoilers of the drama.

At the beginning of the drama, it shows that a couple is going through a hard time, and they are going through the process of divorce. One decision (keeping twin babies) from their youth brought such kind of consequences because, for the babies, both parents sacrificed their dreams when they were in their prime. Nobody expected such a consequence at that time. They regretted many things in life.

Suddenly or surprisingly, one day, the hero (father) turned 18. He used a different name and attended his children's school. Because of his different identity, he could get close to his children and find out some shocking reality that was unknown to him, and with time, he and his wife both understood they were the support for each other. Especially, the wife learned many things about him later. How things were explored was quite interesting, but from here I am stopping telling the drama story about it. I am now sharing what the drama can offer you that relates to reality.

In the drama, Couples go through hard times and try to hide their suffering from each other, thinking that they are protecting. Hiding the suffering from each other created distance between them because neither of them understood what was happening with their partners. If they shared their suffering and pain with each other, they could support each other rather than misleading each other.

There, we can also see that children can't share all their thoughts and issues with their parents. They can share those thoughts with friends easily, and it indicates that there exists a barrier between parents and children. I think parents can be friendly to their children so that they can open up their thoughts. Again, sometimes parents can't express their love to their children, and naturally, children also don't understand the love of their parents.

The drama also shows that parents make many sacrifices for their kids, and they never think of their child as a burden, no matter how many difficulties they face in life. They always try to give their best for their children.

It says that in the workplace, hard work and effort should be parameters of judging, but in this drama, we can see how someone's age hinders the progress of one. The thoughts of people need to be changed, as age discrimination also occurs in real life.
