Peer pressure wasn't a big deal

Peer pressure is something that can be good and bad depending on the situation, and during the time of a student's life, it can create a significant impact. Unfortunately, guardians use peer pressure just for comparison in most cases. Insect students also compare themselves with others, which can be driven by jealousy. Very few students can use peer pressure for positive purposes. Let me share how I dealt with peer pressure.

As a student, I was a hardworking one, and I wasn't a bad student. I want to thank my parents, especially my mother, who guided me well. But it doesn't mean my parents have never compared me with others. And honestly, I hate it the most. Even at an early age, I used to resist comparison, and I always reacted whenever they tried to compare me, even if I was one of the most obedient children. When I was in class VIII, I can remember that my mother compared me with another one. That time, I reacted in a different way. I just asked my mother if she liked the actions of the child she mentioned, and she said yes. I told her that I would be the same person as the one mentioned. I would copy his good and bad habits both, and I also want her after that, so she wouldn't complain to me after changing because it would be her choice, and she would need to take the blame.

She immediately resisted when she heard I would copy the bad habit of the mentioned one. I said I would not copy a person for a single habit. Later, I gave her options to select the person whom I would follow completely, but the requirement was that she needed to give me the same kind of privileges the person received. Unfortunately, she didn't find a perfect person for me because nobody is perfect, and she cannot give me the same privileges if she finds one. In that time, I told her not to compare me unless she finds a suitable person. And if she compares, the comparison should be from every perspective. Because I am not going to agree with a comparison only based on one habit. I am polite and obedient does not mean I would obey everything they say to me. And at the same time, I also told them I was a below-average person, which I am, so they should expect less compared to others.

I don't care about others, and I don't compare myself with others, and I hate it when someone compares me with someone else. Fortunately, when it comes to academics, I am the topper, especially from class IX. And in that time, I was like a human robot when it came to studying. So, in the academic case, the peer pressure was totally ineffective for me. And for having a robotic mentality, handling situations like that was very easy for me.
