Remembering the internet day
Times, history happens faster, we go from one type of technology to another in a second, as is the case with telephones and telecommunications in general. Those of us who are from that intermediate generation have the feeling that we have seen and felt the great changes and that we have also had to adapt or we would not be able to practically survive if we did not, since events and eras flash before our eyes.
I remember at the age of thirteen waiting for Freddy Mercury to sing his Bohemian Rhapsody on a television show (which was impossible to record) with a handheld cassette recorder to pray that no one would make noise so that I could have the desired song. One of the transformations with the greatest incidence in these times is that of music. The difference between the cassette player and the streaming platform, for example Spotify, is gigantic
All the big changes came much faster with the advent of the Internet. But reflecting on what have been the dramatic transformations that cyberspace has brought us; many agree that it was definitely the way to communicate, from letters to e-mails, from long-distance telephone calls made through an operator to Whatsapp, from going to the bank to withdraw or deposit money to virtual banking and to digital money, the way of expressing ourselves with many words to sending an emoji that can summarize everything in an elementary way and so many other things.
These great changes occurred in 34 years, which are fulfilled this May 17, when the World Wide Web (WWW) was born. For those who are that age or less, the changes have occurred but not so dizzying, for those who have witnessed more true and amazing advances to which they have had to adapt, learn and cultivate because they are the way to continue existing with the environment. In fact you weren't reading this or it would have been mailed to you and it would reach you in days or months.
