Weekly task: Hand kerchief gown style with cowl neck

Hello beautiful needle workers , it's needle work Monday and I'm so excited to be here right now .
This week , I'll love to share with you a weekly task I made (Kerchief gown and cowl neck)
Before coming to learn , I had always had eyes of cowl neck styles because of its uniqueness and luckily for me , we were asked to sew it as our weekly task accompanied with Kerchief gown which is also a very nice style instead of a normal flair dress

So these are the materials I used in making it
Vintage material - 3 yards
Blue thread
Zip

And the steps I used involved;
Firstly, to cut out my kerchief gown
I measured my length which was 30 from my half length and folded the material by it after which I folded it again to the same size so that I can get this shape

When I got this folding, I picked my waist measurement divided by 8 which is 37 divided by 8 which gave me 4.5 and then marked it at the edge of the folded cloth to get my waist measurement and then cut it out
At this point, I had my kerchief staring at me and since I got four parts , I slit the longest part so that I can use for my zipper
Here, I proceeded to cutting the half length of the gown which is the top
I first cut drafted the back part of my brown paper and placed in on the material to cut the back side out .

And for the front side, since I was sewing a cowl neck , the photo describes the process I used in getting it after dividing the under bust of my brown paper

I cut the front side out and it gave me this . This was just as perfect as I wanted

I proceeded to joining the body and the Kerchief i.e the down part to the body of the dress , I attached my zipper and also used a small material to turn my sleeve since it was going to be a sleeveless and the final look was this

I was so excited that I was able to make this without any assistance as my boss didn't permit that. I hope it came out well though
Thank you so much for stopping by
Have a nice time everyone 💕💜
