MY FIRST CROCHET WORK, MAKING A TABLE MAT.
Good day everyone,
It's my first post in this community i hope to be welcomed heređź’“
Hope everyone is having a pleasant day or night...
I want to share to everyone my first crotchet making, because i was less busy,i decided to knit a table mat
I was taught how to crotchet in middle school(secondary school). Although i never had interest in making crotchet and as a result of that i let my friends help me whenever we were assigned to do it....
I've been at home for a while because I'm on holidays and because of that,i got bored and then ive been looking for something to involve myself in for a while and after several pictures of crotchet work on hive i decided to make a table mat.
At some point i regretted why i didn't put more interest in learning it while i was at secondary school.
After deciding on making a table mat,i contemplated on the particular color to use and luckily for me i watched a video of my country "Nigeria" and i saw their flag which gave me an inspiration on a color to use..
Green and white is my country's color and i decided to make a table mat with and it came out beautifully
Here are the processes i used while making the mat.
I purchased my wool and my knitting pin and started work immediately
I knited a straight line and gradually turned it into a circle using the green wool,i made it a bit tight to avoid too much space in my work.
After knitting a circle out of the wool i tried to turn it into a shape of a mat (square). Why i started with a circle was because i wasn't familiar with using a square shape from the start so i did what i could..
The possibility of me getting a square out of the circle was because i knitted 4 rounds each in one space at the edge of the circle and as a result of that i made 4 edges and it turned into this shape
After getting my desired shape i continued knitting till i got to the size i had in mind...after this process,i decided to add the white color. It wasn't a difficult process,i dragged in the white thread instead of the green and continued..that was how i got to this step
After joining the white color i kept knitting till it got bigger,i made like 4 to 5 lines before joining the green color again. All this process is to arrive at the green, white and green color (colour of the Nigerian flag)
And that was the last time i joined a colour.I knitted the green color till it got to my desired table mat size and here is the result of all my endeavors
At some point i felt this wasn't enough so i decided to style it a bit by using the white and green wool together
So i attached my little design to the table mat and this is what i arrived atđź’—
The process of knitting is so fun and I'm feeling regretful that I missed the opportunity of learning it properly..... I'm even thankful to my secondary school cuz i learnt a bit even if i showed less interest
Thanks to crochet work,i was able to make my day with this, it saved me from boredom
I have intentions of doing this henceforth, whenever I'm less busy and bores...
Thank you all for reading through my post
