Making And overlap dress with sweetheart neckline for my friend to attend a traditional marriage

Good evening everyone
It's been a while here
And I missed here a lot
Hope you're all doing well and having a lovely new week

So today I want to share with you this beautiful overlap gown with sweetheart neckline I made for my friend to attend a traditional marriage
Although I focus of making weekly tasks and other clothes for Myself, I wasn't confident enough to start accepting customers but this particular friend of mine kept insisting that I made her dress, I don't really know what triggered such trust but then I felt good that someone trusted me and then I decided to accept the offer .
When she sent in her style inspiration, it turned out to be something simple yes classy, I was scared , Yes because I've seen situations where fashion designers ruin people's clothes but I wasn't ready for that yet but I'm glad it turned out well

So the materials I used in making the cloth were:
Ankara Material - 2 yards
Lining - 1 yard
Thread etc

And these processes guided me while making the cloth:
I folded my fabric into two and started by cutting the upper part since the cloth has an half length, the front side was a sweetheart neckline and so to cut it, I off 5 inches from my tape and measured her half length and marked on the material, I marked the bust and waist measurement too and the gave a curve by the middle to create the sweetheart neckline
For the back , I placed the flont on it and added one inch zipper allowance and cut It out

And for the lower part , I measured a normal skirt , using her waist, hips and full length measurement and marking on the fabric, I the made a slant from the lower part up to where the hips start from and it gave me this ,
I placed the cut out material on another fabric and cut out the same this

And this is what the back side looked like , including the zipper allowances

I started sewing, firstly, I cut out my lining to the same shape as the clothes I had cut out and then turned them with it, after which I added all parts including the zipper

After everything I added the single hand and her cloth was ready
I was scared of how it will look on her buh when she fitted it, it was incredibly beautiful and she really adored the dress

She had compliments too and I'm glad I didn't disappoint her
Thank you so much for stopping by
I'm truly grateful 💜🤭

The overlap dress is neatly made. The cut is clean, and the finishing is perfect. Nice work.
