Making An Agbada bubu Top With Palazzo Trousers
Hello everyone here in this lovely community, Hope you're all doing well?
I'm so thrilled to publish a post here and for today I want to share with you this palazzo pants and Agbada bubu top I made as this week's practice at my work place
So recently, I started learning to sew and at my work place, we have weekly projects and for this week we were asked to make an Agbada bubu with a palazzo trouser , I resumed late and then missed all the simple project and at this point, we've advanced to the difficult ones it's still my luck though, we had limited time so I couldn't capture all the steps but I have a few important ones
Alright so I'll write a bit about the steps and materials I used in making this :
The materials were:
- Onions color plain material
- Ankara material
- Sewing machine etc
And the steps I used in making it were:
Firstly to make the top using ankara, since it was a bubu top the hand was with the body of the top and it had no joining, I placed my material on the floor and folded it into two
I used my measurements to mark the shoulder length which was divided into two , the burst and body measurements which was divided into and marked it on the material, I got the full length of the top too and placed it on the material and cut out and then marked a v neck of which I was going to attach my plain material to it
After all the markings, I cut out the front, placed it on another material and cut out the back and for the front, I attached a 4 inches size with the length of the top on the plain material and attached it to the front of the top and did some finishing work
Moving to the palazzo pants
I measured my full length, my waist, hips and measured it on my plain material like it is always done while cutting out a trouser and then cut it out to arrive at this , I placed the front side I had gotten on the material to cut out the back part
After then, I cut out my pocket since this particular trousers was going with a pocket, I joined it to the trousers and sew it up
And sewing, I attached the waist band according to my waist and arrived at the finished work of the trousers
This is was they both looked like when my boss was accessing it, she snapped with her iphone and I got the perfect look , I was surprised on how a phone could upgrade the look of an outfit
Anyways I was rated the third amongst my colleagues and I was so excited
