SELF REFLECTION; It's dangerous to miss God's voice; Consequences of missing out

The concept of hearing God's voice is pertinent part of Christian's perspective in his pursuit for having a cordial relationship with God. Also, there are many factors contributing to the missing out from hearing God's voice, directions and guidance, although there are many reasons or circumstances but there's nothing worth missing out of having koinonia with him.

Have you been longing to hearing God's voice? How do you feel when others shared their experiences on how God spoken to them either in dreams, prayers or through his words? There's always an excitement that comes whenever a man receive a direction from God, it comes with joy and happiness. Why it's important to hear God's voice is that He has a word of direction which might differs from our expectations.

One of the most simplest reason why many sometimes miss hearing God's voice is that He is not saying what we expect. This was one of the most difficult things Jewish leaders faces during Jesus' days on earth, they were actually right there, listening to Jesus but they didn’t really hear him, because He was not saying what they expected to hear and they already had some expectations which was evidence in their questions often and as such they expected the Messiah to act differently. Also, they thought He’d be like King David, and led them into battle to overthrow Rome. Jesus was different. And He didn’t say or do what they expected. So they didn’t really hear Him. And isn’t that often true of us? We miss Jesus’ voice because He is not saying what we expect to hear. To be able to hear from God, is to be open minded, a voided mind ready to consume only what is given by God that's it's more crucial to ever listen to Jesus with an open mind, with an open heart. Not to listen for what we expect Him to say, but simply to listen. Let our minds be changed. Let our hearts be changed. Put aside all the voices in our world, and listen for the loving voice of our true Shepherd.

NEVER YOU BE TOO ASHAMED TO LISTEN
And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?” And he said, “I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.” He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?” Genesis 3:8-11

Sin and guilt play the vital roles, making man to feel unworthy, thought our sin can only cause us to feel naked and ashamed but can't hide from him so why then trying to miss his direction which could help us scale through? Often, God do say something that we wouldn't want to hear, just like Jonah

Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah, saying, “Go at once to Nineveh …” But Jonah set out to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.

Jonah and key personnels in the scriptures did not want to listen to God, because they didn’t like what they were hearing but Jesus said, To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. John 10:3-4 Therefore, having this experience is what no man should miss out. Reflect on this.
