Summary

This story is about the war in 1996 where Japan was divided. A tall tower was built in a city in Hokkaido, Japan that could be seen from Tokyo. The main characters of this story are three teenage high school students who promise to solve the mystery of this tower. But a girl named Sayuri Sawatari mysteriously disappears. Then their project is canceled. A few years later, Hiroki Fujisawa finds out that Sayuri has been in a coma since then and is in a government research center. Where her brain is being studied, the reason for their research is that they want to see parallel universes. This is basically the main theme of this story.

Story

This story takes place in an alternate reality of Japan. The story begins after the Second World War when Japan was divided. In the sky of this divided Japan, a huge tower called the Union Tower is being built in Hokkaido. The three characters in this story are teenagers, one named Hiroki Fujisawa, Takuya Shirakawa, and Sayunka. They are three friends. They studied at the same school and always had a lot of fun. They lived together and dreamed from the beginning that they would one day go to this huge tower.

They would uncover the mystery of that tower. They had an old plane. They worked hard to fix that plane. They repaired that plane every day. While repairing the plane, they dreamed that they would one day go to that huge tower. Their wish is to one day fly the plane and go to that huge tower and uncover its mystery. Hiroki and Takuya love Sayunka. But Sayunka liked Hiroki more. The three of them always spent time together. They had a lot of fun. The three of them dreamed that one day they would go to that huge tower and unravel its mystery.

One day, suddenly, Sayunka was nowhere to be found. After that, Hiroki and Takuya tried to find her a lot but could not find her anymore. This incident created a distance in their friendship, and Hiroki and Takuya went their separate ways.Since then, the two friends have never been together again.

A few years have passed and Hiroki learns that Sayunka has been taken to a government research center. There, a study is being conducted on Sayunka. She is currently in a coma. A study is being conducted using her brain. This technology is capable of creating parallel universes and is connected to the Union Tire. After this incident, the two of his friends get together again and decide that they will save Sayunka.

The three of them will fulfill their old dream. They will repair their plane again and unravel the mystery of that tower. Then, the two of them rescue Sayunka with great difficulty. Then they repair the plane and together they travel to the tower. Through this journey, the trouble between them will be fixed and they will become friends again. Their old dream is rekindled. In the end, they rescue Sayunka and destroy the tower, so that the dangerous technology will be stopped. Then this animosity ends here.

My Explanation

This story is basically about love, friendship and dreams. I liked this story a lot. Because this story shows how three friends fulfill one of their dreams. Despite many obstacles, they can fulfill their dreams. This story shows how people affect each other's lives and how they struggle to fulfill their promises. This story is not just a story of fulfilling dreams. There is love and affection here. There is a bond of friendship here. This story is really emotional. I liked this story a lot. The animation of this film was very beautiful because this film was released in 2004. At that time, there was not such good technology as it is now. Making this animation with the technology that was available at that time was very beautiful and charming, especially the visuals of the tower. The film may not be suitable for everyone due to its slow pace and complex story. However, for those who like deep stories and aesthetic visuals, this is a very beautiful film.
