My two earthquakes are now 1 year and 5 months old | Mis dos terremotos ya tienen 1 año y 5 meses.

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I posted here about the progress and how much my little kitty earthquakes have grown. If I remember correctly, the last time I shared something about them was when they were 6 months old, and since then, they've had so many adventures and things have happened together. I had planned to post about them earlier, but I delayed a bit. The thing is, they recently turned 1 year and 5 months old, and I have to say that, even though they're really big, I still see them as little puppies.

Hola a todos, ya hacía tiempo que no publicaba por acá el avance y cuánto han crecido mis pequeños terremotos gatunos. Si mal no recuerdo, la última vez que compartí algo de ellos fue cuando tenían 6 meses, y desde entonces han pasado muchísimas cosas y aventuras en conjunto. Tenía planeado publicar sobre ellos antes, pero me tardé un poco; la cosa es que recientemente cumplieron 1 año y 5 meses y debo decir que, aunque están grandísimos, sigo viéndolos como unos pequeños cachorros aún.

To begin, I must say that they still maintain their distinctly individual ways. Haru, for her part, has grown a lot; she's even the biggest and heaviest. She still has an avoidant attachment, although she sometimes asks for affection. In recent months, she's become inseparable; wherever I am in the house, she's always lying nearby. Of course, at the slightest attempt to pick her up, she moves away a little, but she's inseparable. Even so, I've dubbed her "the tantrum-thrower," since she tends to be very argumentative and a natural alarm clock that goes off at 6:00 a.m. to ask for food.

Para comenzar, debo decir que aún siguen manteniendo sus formas de ser tan marcadas de manera individual. Haru, por su parte, ha crecido muchísimo; incluso es la más grande y la más pesada. Sigue teniendo su apego evitativo, aunque por momentos pide cariño. En los últimos meses se ha vuelto inseparable; puesto que para donde quiera que esté en la casa, ella siempre está allí acostada cerca. Claro está que al mínimo intento de cargarla, se aleja un poco, pero es inseparable. Aun así, la he bautizado como "la berrinchuda", puesto que suele ser muy contestona y un despertador natural que se activa desde las 6:00 am para pedir comida.

Baby, on the other hand, hasn't grown as much as Haru, but she has become a complete adventurer. I must say that, despite being a girl, I still treat her like a boy out of habit, since, remember, it was a problem having two girls at home, and although it was resolved now, I still had the habit of calling her that. However, that doesn't mean she's not my favorite, and I always give in to opening the cat litter box to feed them as soon as she glances at me. She still has those specific habits that even make her look a little spoiled in front of my mother, such as knowing where to place her paw to ask for a piece of bread, or, as soon as she sees that her water has even a single ant in it, she won't stop until it's changed.

Bebé, por su parte, no ha crecido tanto como Haru, pero sí se ha vuelto una completa aventurera. Debo decir que, a pesar de que es niña, aún sigo tratándola como niño por costumbre, ya que recordemos que era un problema que tuviera dos niñas en casa y, aunque ya se resolvió, aún me quedó la manía de llamarla así. Sin embargo, no quita que sea mi consentida y por quien siempre cedo a abrir la gatarina para darles apenas me hace ojitos. Aún sigue teniendo esas mañas específicas que hasta la hacen ver un poco malcriada ante mi madre, como por ejemplo el saber dónde colocar la garra para pedir un pedacito de pan o, apenas ver que su agua tiene aunque sea una hormiga, no parar hasta que se la cambien.

Unlike Haru, Bebe usually goes out into the yard and to some neighbors' houses every day, which makes her go into overprotective mode, since I tend to be very attentive when he's out for a long time, which results in moments when the neighbors have to listen to me call him for a long time. Even so, there are times when it seems like we're talking, since he usually stares at me and meows while he wants water, cuddles, or food. And, like his sister, he usually stays with me, only he lies closer and lets me hold and cuddle him.

A diferencia de Haru, Bebe cada día suele salir al patio y a algunas casas de vecinos, lo que hace que entre en modo sobreprotectora, ya que suelo estar muy pendiente cuando pasa mucho rato fuera, lo cual hace momentos en los que los vecinos me tienen que escuchar llamarlo por un buen rato. Aun así, tiene sus raticos donde parece que conversamos, pues me suele ver fijo y maullar mientras quiere agua o mimo o comida y, al igual que su hermana, suele estar conmigo, solo que sí se acuesta más cerca y se deja cargar y mimar.

Something I like and make me happy about them is that they are very close and playful; they almost can't be without each other because they go wherever I am to find me or call, and they are very curious about what I do, so behind every photo for some publication, they have been in the background, getting into some shot or being part of them, since they always have to see and approve everything before taking a photo, which makes it nice because they are memories that we are forming, so it is inevitable that in almost any publication they steal the attention, so sometimes I distract myself remembering each stage and how they are still so unique.

Algo que me gusta y alegra de ellos es que son muy unidos y juguetones; casi que no pueden estar uno sin el otro porque van donde esté para que busque o llame, y son muy curiosos con lo que hago, por lo que detrás de cada foto para alguna publicación, ellos han estado de fondo, metiéndose en alguna toma o formando parte de estas, ya que siempre tienen que ver y aprobar todo antes de tomarles foto, lo cual lo hace lindo porque son recuerdos que vamos formando, por lo que es inevitable que en casi cualquier publicación se roben la atención, por lo que a veces me distraigo recordando cada etapa y cómo aun así siguen siendo tan únicos.

Although my mom still keeps her distance from them, she usually brings them food, and they always look for me to give them some pampering. I've seen how little by little she's beginning to understand them and laughs every time she sees me scolding them for some mischief or telling my grandmother, who asks me how they are every week, about the times I'm babysitting them when they're feeling down or have a fever. Because yes, even though they're older and I no longer have the same altered schedule I had when I cared for them as babies, they still have their moments where it's nice to see them come to me and be very still while I pamper them or take care of them.

Aunque mi mamá aún mantiene su distancia con ellos, suele siempre traerles comida y ellos buscan que les dé algún mimo. He visto cómo poco a poco empieza a entenderlos y se ríe cada que me ve regañándolos por alguna travesura o contando a mi abuela, la cual cada semana me pregunta cómo están, las veces que estoy cuidándolos cuando andan de bajón o están con temperatura, porque sí, a pesar de que están grandes y ya no tengo ese horario cambiado de cuando los cuidaba siendo bebés, aún tienen sus momentos donde es lindo ver cómo llegan a mí y son muy quietos mientras los mimo o los cuido.

Sometimes people tell me I'm too tolerant of them, or that I spoil them, or indulge them, but the truth is, they're my world. They always sleep with me, stay up late waiting for a cuddle, or even accompany my sister with her homework, and they give me daily joys and thrills that, far from annoying me, make me feel good and amuse me. They're more than just an emotional support, and that's why I'm happy they're grown up. So, for now, that's all I have to share about my thrills. A veces le dicen que tengo mucha tolerancia con ellos o los malcrío o consiento, pero la verdad es que son mi mundo; siempre duermen conmigo y se quedan hasta tarde esperando para acurrucarse o incluso acompañan a mi hermana en sus tareas y me dan las alegrías diarias y tremenduras que, más allá de molestarme, me hacen sentir bien y me divierten.
