Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025)- [ENG/ESP]
Hi everyone, if there's one movie I watched countless times last year, it's definitely one I had high expectations for. I was curious about what it would be like, and each time I watched it, I gained a different perspective. And mind you, I didn't watch it repeatedly out of fanaticism; it was with different people who simply asked me to watch it, and I always noticed something interesting. So, I can tell you right now that it's not a movie that gets boring or tiresome, which is a good thing. Without further ado, here's my brief opinion on "Fantastic Four: First Steps."
Hola a todos, si hay una película que llegué a ver muchas veces en el ya pasado año, es sin duda una a la que personalmente le tenía muchas expectativas, a él, cómo sería, y que con cada vez que la veía lograba tener una visión distinta. Y ojo, no es que la viera repetidas veces por fanatismo, sino que fue con personas distintas que simplemente me pedían verla y, pues, siempre veía alguna cosa curiosa en esta, por lo que de una les puedo decir que no es una película que aburra o canse al verla, lo cual es bueno, por lo que sin más les daré mi pequeña opinión sobre "Los Cuatro Fantásticos: Primeros pasos".
With a release date of July 2025, directed by Matt Shakman and produced by Marvel Studios, this is the third reboot for this series of Fantastic Four films and also the 37th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is set in the 1960s, introducing the protagonists on Earth-828, where our heroes have gradually forged their fame and recognition through their acquired powers and advanced technology, while still maintaining a vintage feel. This is a positive point from my perspective, as it conveys the feeling of being immersed in classic comics with this same atmosphere.
Con fecha de estreno de julio del 2025, con dirección de Matt Shakman, bajo la producción de Marvel Studios, siendo este el tercer reinicio para esta serie de películas sobre los Cuatro Fantásticos y también siendo la número 37 de las películas del universo cinematográfico de Marvel, nos ambienta entre los años 1960, donde nos presentan a los protagonistas en la Tierra -828 , donde nuestros héroes poco a poco han forjado su fama y reconocimiento a través de cada uno de los poderes adquiridos y con una tecnología avanzada, sin dejar de lado el ambiente de antaño que se nos muestra, siendo este un punto positivo desde mi punto de vista, ya que nos transmite esa sensación de estar inmersos en los clásicos cómics con este mismo ambiente.
Personally, I have a strong fondness for the well-known 2005 adaptations and their 2007 sequel, which I still enjoy for their humor and the way they tell the story. However, when watching the classic animated series, it's clear that these adaptations weren't entirely faithful to the original setting. This is why this version stands out more with its classic costumes and futuristic style, reminiscent of previous decades, which is quite different from reality. This makes it striking and prompts us to look beyond the plot to the underlying themes, such as the giant televisions and the technology that was supposed to be quite outdated.
Personalmente, tengo un gusto fuerte por las adaptaciones que tanto conocemos de los años 2005 y su secuela en 2007, las cuales hasta la fecha disfruto mucho por el humor y la forma en que estas nos muestran la historia; sin embargo, al ver la clásica serie animada, está claro que estas no estaban del todo ambientadas al rumbo original, cosa por la que esta versión toma más presencia con los trajes clásicos, el estilo futurista que en las décadas anteriores se visionaba, siendo distinto a la realidad, lo que en un punto hace llamativo y nos indaga a observar no solo la trama, sino el fondo, con estos televisores gigantes en una tecnología que se planteaba iba a ser muy poco moderna.
However, we're also presented with a very comic book style, which I feel is something that really appeals to fans of the franchise. And as we delve deeper into the story, even the designs, like Ben's, are more adapted to make us feel like we're seeing something more faithful to the source material. This adaptation tells us how Galactus enters the scene years after the Fantastic Four acquired their powers, and how the central focus shifts from Richards' frustrations to the appearance of Galactus and her messenger, and subsequently, saving Earth from being devoured and finally protecting his son, who is presented as someone with a hidden power, something I also enjoyed seeing.
Ahora bien, también se nos presenta un estilo muy cómic que siento es algo que atrae mucho a quienes siguen la franquicia, y adentrándonos en la historia, incluso los diseños como el de Ben están más adaptados para que sintamos que estamos viendo algo más fiel. En esta adaptación nos cuentan cómo entra Galactus en escena años después de que los Cuatro Fantásticos adquirieran sus poderes y cómo el eje central va pasando de las frustraciones de Richards a la aparición de esta y su mensajera y, posteriormente, salvar la Tierra de ser devorada y finalmente proteger a su hijo, el cual se nos presenta como alguien con un poder oculto, cosa que también me gustó ver.
While previous installments presented a more structured story, focusing the first on the beginning and the second with this messenger as a small appetizer for what Galactus means to the Fantastic Four, this one feels more closed off, more direct, even giving Sue and Richards more prominence than the other two members. However, there's a difference: the atmosphere is more peaceful than what we've seen with explosive personalities, like Johnny's in previous years. This surprised me because he was more focused on the responsibilities of a superhero, but at the same time, I missed the comedy that made him more relatable.
Aunque si bien en las entregas anteriores se nos puso un poco más estructurada la historia, centrando la primera en un inicio de la historia y luego la segunda con este mensajero como un pequeño aperitivo a lo que es Galactus para los 4 Fantásticos , en esta se hace todo como más cerrado, más directo a lo que se necesita, dando incluso un protagonismo más centrado en Sue y Richards que los otros dos integrantes, pero con una diferencia, y es que está como un ambiente más pacífico que lo que llegamos a ver con personalidades explosivas, como lo fue para Johnny en años anteriores, lo que me sorprendió porque este era más centrado en lo que es la responsabilidad de un superhéroe, pero a su vez extrañando esa comedia que hacía para mí simpatizar mejor.
I feel that, without a doubt, this installment is more about delving deeper into these characters than a simple adaptation, since it makes us feel that we will see much more of them in the future, and it's a way of adapting it to the structure of Marvel in this story that we are gradually fitting together and uniting with each film, so it was definitely more than necessary for them to enter the MCU as such, which I am excited to see.
Siento que, sin duda, esta entrega es más para entrar más de lleno con estos personajes que una simple adaptación, ya que nos hace sentir que veremos mucho más en adelante de estos, y es una manera de adaptarlo a lo que está esa estructura de Marvel en esta historia que poco a poco vamos engranando y uniendo con cada película, por lo que sin duda era más que necesaria para que entraran como tal al UCM, lo cual me emociona ver.
So, well, in short, it's not a movie I liked as much as the ones from previous years, but that's just personal taste and nostalgia. However, this one is more than good; I even like it, since it's the beginning of something positive for the Fantastic Four, who I feel were a bit neglected despite their importance. Por lo que, bueno, en resumen, no es una película que me gustara tanto como las de años anteriores, pero es por gusto y recuerdo personal. STOPYo también soy muy fan de la versión de los Cuatro Fantásticos de los años 2000. Sin embargo,cuando decidí ver esta película logró entretenerme bastante. No sé si contarla como una buena adaptación o no ya que eso depende más de a qué versión de los Cuatro Fantásticos de los comics se basaron los creadores. Igualmente, creo que la misma película nos dan indicios de qué versión es y eso es algo positivo ya que también soy fan de que las asociaciones sean lo más fieles posibles a sus obras originales.
Sin embargo, la visión de este equipo de superhéroes es muy distinta a la que conocemos de las versiones anteriores. Eso por un lado es bueno ya que vemos más a una familia ya hecha de héroes combatiendo contra un enemigo imposible de vencer, literalmente. Pero bueno, quitando ciertos detalles, tropos y el claro objetivo final de usar esta película como una introducción y conexión a mi que se vine en Avengers: Doomsday, está bien la película.
Algo que me gustó mucho, aparte de sus excelentes efectos especiales y los buenos trabajos de actuación de cada personaje principal; es el estilo retro-futurista que tiene la película. De algo que sí hay que admitir es que esta versión de los Cuatro Fantásticos es muy diferente a las demás.
