Description of the Meliá Habana hotel lobby [eng/esp]

As part of my work activities, a few days I participated in a conference on food safety and safe practices in one of the meeting rooms of the Meliá Habana Hotel. On that occasion, we had a session dedicated to touring the facility and learning from the sales representatives about different aspects of the hotel, such as its main service areas, the products that make it up, the main issuing markets and the experiences they have accumulated after several years of operating in the hotel sector.
Previously, I had entered the hotel's swimming pool on one of my free afternoons, but on that occasion I had not stopped to admire the design of the place, so I was surprised by every detail I found on my way, which I had not initially discovered. I have to tell you that I had a curious sensation: I felt like I was touring the place for the first time.

Como parte de mis actividades de trabajo, hace algunos días participé en una conferencia de inocuidad de los alimentos y prácticas seguras, en uno de los salones de reuniones del hotel Meliá Habana. En esa oportunidad, tuvimos una sesión dedicada a recorrer la instalación, y conocer, de boca de los comerciales, diferentes aspectos del mismo como las principales áreas de servicio que lo componen, los productos que lo integran, principales mercados emisores y las experiencias que han ido acumulando luego de varios años de operación en el sector hotelero.
Con anterioridad, yo había entrado a la piscina del hotel en una de mis tardes libres, pero en esa ocasión no me había detenido a admirar el diseño del lugar, por lo que me sorprendió cada detalle que encontré a mi paso, que inicialmente no había descubierto. Les cuento que tuve una sensación curiosa: sentí que estaba recorriendo el lugar por primera vez.

The hotel is located on 3rd Avenue in the Miramar district of Havana, between 76th and 80th Streets. This building is quite large, so, in order to make a better description of it, I will dedicate future posts to describe the different areas. In this post I will be starting from the lobby, which in addition to being the first space that welcomes the client at the entrance, in my opinion, I consider it to be the most beautiful and elegant.
The lobby area is spacious and has plenty of natural lighting during the night, due to the light that enters through some of the windows located on the ceiling. It also has a blue water fountain that remains crystal clear and clean.
The most surprising feature is the bar counter, which has a semicircular shape, and a decorative ceiling made of gold-colored metal "threads" and bar stools fixed to the floor, with orange upholstery.

El hotel está ubicado en la avenida 3ra del reparto Miramar de la ciudad de La Habana, entre las calles 76 y 80. Esta edificación es bastante amplia, por lo que, para poder hacer una mejor descripción de la misma, iré dedicando futuras publicaciones para describir las diferentes áreas. En este post estaré comenzando del lobby, que además de ser el primer espacio que recibe al cliente a su entrada, desde mi opinión, considero que es el más bonito y elegante.
El área del lobby es amplia y con mucha iluminación natural durante el horario nocturno, debido a la luz que entra por algunos de los cristales que están ubicados en el techo. Tiene además una fuente de azules aguas que se mantienen cristalinas y limpias.
Lo más sorprendente es la barra del bar, que tiene forma de semicircunferencia, y un techo decorativo formado por "hilos" de metal de color dorado, y banquetas de bar fijadas al suelo, con un tapizado de color naranja.

In the center of the lobby, there are 4 sculptures with different shapes, but that look very well integrated. One is a large open egg, the second a woven basket and the third a melon slice, of which you can even see the seeds. The fourth looked to me like an upright boomerang, but I really leave that interpretation to the reader's imagination. As a plus I can add that they are perfect for taking pictures and leaving a nice souvenir of the visit to the place.

En el centro del lobby, se encuentran 4 esculturas con diferentes formas, pero que se ven muy bien integradas. Una de ellas es un gran huevo abierto, la segunda una cesta tejida y la tercera una rodaja de melón, de la cual incluso pueden verse las semillas. El cuarto me pareció un boomerang en posición vertical, pero realmente dejo esa interpretación a la imaginación del lector. Como plus puedo añadir que son perfectas para tomarse fotos y dejar un recuerdo bonito de la visita al lugar.

In the access corridor to the stores, there is a table with a round glass base decorated with a potted bonsai. I liked this detail because I feel that it brings life to the decoration, as I have visited other stores where this type of elements are artificial, and although they look visually pleasing, it does not have the same effect.

En el pasillo de acceso a las tiendas, se ubica una mesa de base redonda de cristal que tiene como adorno una maceta con bonsái. Me gustó este detalle porque siento que le aporta vida a la decoración, pues he visitado otros locales donde este tipo de elementos son artificiales, y aunque lucen visualmente de forma agradable, no tiene el mismo efecto.

The furniture is varied, consisting mainly of sets of sofas of different shapes, materials and colors, some accompanied by armchairs.
They also have a black grand piano, which immediately caught my attention because I really like music, and especially this instrument. I couldn't help but ask if they have a pianist who plays it, and I felt a great desire to sit on it.

El mobiliario es variado, integrado fundamentalmente por juegos de sofás de diferentes formas, materiales y colores, algunos acompañados con butacas.
Además tienen un piano de cola negro, que enseguida atrapó mi atención porque me gusta muchísimo la música, y sobre todo este instrumento. No pude dejar de preguntar si tienen algún pianista que lo toque, y sentir muchos deseos de sentarme en él.
