We'll Beat the Frost! - Frostpunk 2

Hello from a cold day. The world is once again hit by a cold wave in April, and in Frostpunk, we continue our fight against the cold. I hope I can keep my people alive.

In the previous chapter we managed to build a colony at the oil source and now we have to choose how to use the oil. We passed a law about funerals and this has reduced the unrest in the community. Our exploration continues and we need human resources because we sent part of the labor force to the colony. We found our first automaton and it started working in the city but it is not enough.

I can transfer resources between the colony and the city. I have to send enough food, supplies and goods to the colony. It is very important to keep a balance because the colony will provide me with oil. And I will give them a comfortable life.

With the caliber goods factory I have just finished researching, I will greatly increase the production of goods in the city, which is very important because as far as I can see, goods are one of the few products that cannot be found outside the city.

Exploration must continue, and I must use all the outposts around that are useful to us.

For oil, it's not just extraction zones. Right now I need to start stocking up as soon as possible, so I've started researching disintegrator horse heads. This building increases misery compared to the other one, but it provides less manpower and more oil. I hope to keep the misery under control with algae treatment towers.

With the delivery of the first oil shipment to our city, we are on the verge of an important decision. This decision on how to use the oil is irreversible, so I have to think carefully.

We are choosing how to fight the frost. Do we embrace it or do we defeat it? I chose to defeat the frost to be in line with the story. As you know, we have been on the side of the Yilmazes since the beginning of the game and to confront them now would not be in line with the flow of the story. The Yilmazes suggest burning oil until there's no more snow, while the travelers say that the city can't stand forever and suggest we accept the frost and use the oil to build houses on the frozen ground. We will beat the frost!

Now we will start developing the generator and make this city warmer than ever. And thanks to the oil we've found, we can also access resources deep in the city that we normally can't.

Our decision has raised the travelers' temperature. Provocateurs are doing their best to increase tensions. I'm going to need a prison soon. I have a lot to investigate, but let's not forget this.

Oh, that's great! I've found another automaton. This one doesn't seem as efficient as the last one, half as efficient, but labor is labor.

I found a food outpost and I realized that I don't have to send this food to the main city, I can send it to the colony. That way I don't have to transfer resources there from my own city.

I found a vehicle stuck in one of the places I explored. There is 50000 coal and materials that I can get from here if I'm in trouble. I'll keep that in mind.

Because of the buildings I am building in the colony, the need for materials is increasing. That's why I decided to connect a material outpost to the city.

Thanks to the propaganda law, vote manipulation, deaths, emergency councils will affect my relations with the communities less. I haven't had to use them yet, but I need to pass this law in case I do in the future. It also reduces tension.

The Yilmazes are organizing a support rally for me in the city. I can make a request to them, and I have asked them to contribute more heat stamps because heat stamps are what I need the most at the moment.

That's enough for this episode. It was very difficult to decide how to use the oil and now we have an opposing group and a supporting group. What we need to do is to keep developing without making the opposing faction too angry and disturbing the peace of the city. Thank you very much for reading, I hope you enjoyed it. Don't forget to share your thoughts with me in the comments and take care!

Someone told me about Frostpunk the other day. This looks very much like Anno1800 but different aesthetic and society. I love how that also have the options to manipulate votes and such.
