Riots Must be Suppressed - Frostpunk 2
Hey, it's almost summer and it's getting cold again, which is very strange. Even Frostpunk doesn't have this much weather change. I hope we don't face scorching heat in the summer. Anyway, here I am with a new episode of Frostpunk where we have bigger problems than heat.
In the previous chapter we started the colonization and it's very challenging, both collecting the cores and exploring the frost because of the poison gas. Safe frost exploration is possible but the costs are very high. Several hundred people have already died and more will die. This made the Yilmaz's opponents very angry and they started to protest. They are damaging some buildings in Winterfell. I need to build watchtowers to stop them, but by the time the research is finished it may be too late. I will do my best to keep the peace of the people.
The disease in Winterfell is increasing because of the poisonous gases. We have no choice but to grit our teeth.
At last I was able to build the Auto-work factory so that people can continue to harvest the beans without the risk of death. Getting sick is not a problem. We'll have time to cure them all when they return to our city.
We've finally managed to harvest 40 kernels. Now there's another question. We can stay here and collect more kernels because we might need them in the future or we can save the workers. I, of course, chose to save the workers, I can't have any more losses here.
We caught a member of the Pilgrim, he was caught spying on the Yilmazes, and although he didn't confess, his notes say, “ Winterfell must be avenged.”
It's time to investigate the prisons. There are many options, but this seems to make the most sense. I don't want the prison I'm building to raise tensions in the city, just keep criminals inside.
With 40 cores I managed to upgrade the generator once more. Now it seems we are once again on the verge of an important decision.
The Pilgrims are up to something serious. I don't know what they want, but let's see what they do. They say they want to avenge the dreams lost in the Winterfell.
Oh, no! A member of the Pilgrims killed a member of the Indomitable inside the council. The blood is now on the council!
Episode 5 begins, Utopia Dreams. When I saw this episode, I thought: Can people never live happily together? Would their differences of opinion drive them to primitivism in such situations and they would start attacking each other? Is it only in dreams that we can live in peace?
So far I have mostly tried to solve things with kindness, I have tried to compromise with everyone and I want them to be happy. Maybe I have to use force to make them really happy. That's the way I'm going to try to keep order, because the other options are either to kick the Pilgrims out of the city or not to try to compromise. I don't want to kick them out because they have contributed to the city so far. And I don't think we can compromise because the tension is beyond that. It's time to use force.
We are on our way to becoming a captain whose decisions are not questioned, like in the first game. If I succeed, I will restore order, but if I fail, my rule will end, so they will probably kill me.
The Pilgrims have started to take over territories and burn them to the ground. I will send guards to stop them. Our goal is to put down the rebellion in the first place and protect the people.
Now they are attacking the food zone, maybe I should be a bit tougher, this time protecting the territory is the priority. People may get hurt in the fighting.
I need to reduce the tension as soon as possible, otherwise the city will be destroyed.
I am looking at what I can do to de-escalate, but it is all from the past. My decision in the winter quarters, sending the automatons to work, the civil war, the clashes, the watchtowers, etc. I can try to build something to reduce the tension right now.
At this rate the conflicts will only stop if a community disappears. I will do my best to stop them before that happens.
I have crushed riots in the city by force. 1500 people have died in the process but there is nothing I can do. I must find a permanent solution before these conflicts break out again.
I need to pass one last law to become captain. If I do that, the trust issue will disappear and I won't need a vote to pass laws. 29 people voted no, I need the rest to vote yes. I will make promises to convince them.
With the votes of 69 people, I am now the captain of the city. I will enforce order and everything will be the way I want it.
Huh, that was a long and tiring episode. I think the next episode will be the final episode. Stay tuned if you don't want to miss it! Thank you for reading, I hope you liked it. Don't forget to share your thoughts with me in the comments. Take care and have a great day!
