Haha, kids love things like this. At least they love learning about them. But when it comes to gathering them, they're not always so eager. Did you know that the taste of this nut is very different from the ones you buy at the store? It tastes more like fresh walnuts.

Heh agree with you, kids can start with great enthusiasm but after several minutes it finish quickly! ;)
I herd that taste changes but I didn't have possibility to compare it. Here we have local variety of nut which looks similar like hazelnut ( I need to check how they related in books) but it doesn't change it's taste.
