Arcade Colony - Stake House Den Beginner Tutorial
As someone who started playing Web3 games with Hive, I've tried a few games, and while I wouldn't consider myself an expert on games, I don't think you need to be highly skilled to try out a game or write a tutorial. On the contrary, sometimes a tutorial written by a beginner can help you understand everything better because it's written in terms you can understand. Today, let's take a look at Stake House Den, one of Hive's relatively new games.
How Do I Get Started?
To start some games on Hive, you need to make an initial payment. This amount is usually 10 HBD, and in return, you get a few starter cards. Stake House Den doesn't have such a system, but there are some things you need to do. It may seem a bit confusing at first, but don't worry, I'll explain everything from a beginner's perspective.
First, you need to log in to the Arcade Colony website.
Clicking the Sign In button in the top right corner will redirect you here, and you can then easily log in with your Hive Keychain password after write your username on Hive adress section.
You can see the games at the bottom of the main page. Today, we'll take a look at Stake House Den, so we'll select that, but first, we need some resources.
We need cards to use in the game, and these cards can be obtained from Lady Luck packs. There are many different ways to get Lady Luck packs. You can buy Lady Luck tokens directly through Hive Engine. 1 token equals one pack. You can also buy them using Script tokens through Hive Engine. Script is the stable coin of Script Arcade Colony. You can get 1 Lady Luck pack for 4 Script. Or you can buy them with Credits. You can get 1 Lady Luck pack for 4 Credits. Below, you can see screenshots for all three options.
As you can see when reviewing the 3 options, the most logical choice is to purchase the Lady Luck package using Script. This is because purchasing with Credits costs $4, purchasing the Lady Luck token costs 7.3 Hive, which is $1.52. Purchasing with Script costs 6.01 Hive, which is $1.25. Therefore, you can confidently choose Script.
For Script, you have two different options. You can either purchase Script directly through Hive Engine or use the Swap option. Again, you can find screenshots for both options below.
Here, I will share three different scenarios with you. As you can see, there is no difference between using the Swap feature on Hive Engine or purchasing directly from the market, but if you use the Swap feature via Tribaldex, you can see that you get Script at a much better price. Making a profit of 0.2 Hive per script is very reasonable. I don't know why this is the case; perhaps you can enlighten me in the comments. I haven't changed any settings and am explaining this from a beginner's perspective.
Alright, now I'll show you how to transfer the Script tokens we purchased into the game.
On the main page, you'll see three different tokens next to your username in the top right corner. Initially, all of them will be 0. The one on the far right is the Script token; click on it.
On the screen that opens, click the Transfer button in the middle. Then click the section labeled Player and convert it to Hive Engine. Next, select how many Script tokens you want to transfer to the game and press Transfer In. Confirm via Keychain, and that's it. Your Script tokens will be transferred into the game within a few seconds.
Now we're ready to purchase the Lady Luck pack. Hover your mouse over the Shop section on the main page and click on Lady Luck Packs. You'll see the page shown above. Click on Script and enter how many packs you want to purchase. Click on the large Script text below to complete your purchase.
If you want to get rarer items when opening packs, you can purchase Gold Flux and Legendary Flux. These will double your chances of getting a Legendary card and the probability of the card being gold foil. I think they're quite cheap. You can follow the same steps as for Lady Luck packs to purchase them. Hover your mouse over the Shop section on the main page, click on Gold Flux and Legendary Flux, and complete the purchase with Script.
How to Open Cards
Well, we've managed to get through the technical part, albeit with some difficulty, and now we can open the packs and start playing the game. Now open the main page and click on Stake House Den in the games section below. You will see the screen shown above. Click on Play Now and let the fun begin.
As you can see, there are three different game options: Roulette, Blackjack, and Slots. To play any of these games, we need Hot Sauce, the game's currency. To get Hot Sauce, we need to stake our cards. Let's open our cards!
Click on the Menu option in the top right corner, then click on My Packs. When you see the screen shown above, click on Open Packs.
When you click on Open Packs again, your packs will open. If you want to use Legendary Flux and Gold Flux, make sure the “Use Flux” box is checked.
The card opening animation may be glitchy. Don't let this scare you. Just wait a moment and then refresh the page.
Here are my first 5 cards. Am I lucky? I don't know, but 2 Aces and a Queen should be good.
You can see most of the cards I got from the 3 packs I opened here. The rest didn't fit on the screen.
Now it's time to stake our cards. Let's go to the refrigerator from the menu.
Click on the Stake section at the bottom left. When you click on the cards to stake them, you'll see that you need to stake the Script first. Click on Stake Script.
On the screen that opens, click Stake. Enter how much Script you haven't staked yet and click Stake. It will complete after you give Keychain approval.
Now you can select your card and press Stake, and your card will start producing Hot Sauce for you. Don't forget to log into the game from time to time and press the Claim button to collect the Hot Sauce produced. You can see which cards produce more Hot Sauce by clicking on them one by one, or you can click here to find out how much Hot Sauce each card produces. Cards of different rarities and levels will provide you with more production. This is not our topic for now.
Remember that your refrigerator has a Hot Sauce capacity. You start with 50 capacity, which I think is quite sufficient. To increase the capacity, you can select Refrigerator Capacity from the Shop tab. I don't think you'll have any problems since increasing the first levels is quite cheap.
Actually, I'd like to show you a few gameplay examples, but I need at least 10 Hot Sauce for each game, so I'll wait to save up a bit and share my thoughts on gameplay and the rewards I've earned in the next post.
Thank you so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed it. You can join the community's Discord server here and ask any questions you have. You can also give me advice about the game in the comments section. See you in the next post!

Thanks for curating man ^^
Great tutorial, I've been playing the game for a few months now, and I'm still trying to increase my stake. That's a fundamental part of the game, although I already played Moonkarts, where the same stake as SCRIPT applies.
Yeah I'll take a look to that game as well. I just need to learn more about this one first 😂 What's your hot sauce production? I just wondered 😅
My hot sauce production is very low, so I need to get more Lady Luck packs.
I must have a few now, it takes weeks to play, although apparently the reward system is very low, according to @libertycrypto27 it may go up later. So it seems inconvenient to use up all the sauces now.

Yes, I read his post on this subject and he seems to be quite right, but I still want to try the games a few times. My production is also very low at the moment. I can produce 10 Hot Sauce per day.

Come get MOONed!
We'll unfortunately have to mute this as we're usually focused on web2 while allowing certain web3 games, but this one seems to go a bit further into gambling/slots territory which isn't really gaming. If we're wrong, do let us know but please refrain from posting about such games in hivegc in the future. Thank you.
Ah yeah I didn’t notice that. I’ll be more careful about that next time. I better find another community next time for this game. Thank you so much for your explanation 👍
