In the sixth episode of my Antalya adventures, I will share with you the temple of one of the world's most famous gods, the Temple of Apollo. Which ancient god is truly the most famous and has the most temples or shrines in the world? I wonder about this. The answer is probably Zeus.

To get to the Temple of Apollo, you have to walk along the coast for quite a while. I'm not complaining about that because the view was beautiful. Despite the heat, my wife didn't complain either. The sea air lifts your spirits.

We saw other ruins on the way to the temple. Unfortunately, there were no information signs. So I don't know when they date from. I think that these lesser-known historical sites in particular are not given the value they deserve. That saddens me.

This is the most well-known structure belonging to the temple. If you search for Antalya Side Apollo Temple on Google, the images you see are generally similar to this one. It was very crowded there that day. It's wonderful that people visit this place despite the heat. Although, I don't know how many people are interested in the history of this place. Most of them are in line to take pictures.

There were other ruins next to the temple. Perhaps work is still being done on them. At least the fact that the area is fenced off ensures their protection. Did you see the person with the umbrella in the background? Many people there, especially those from the Far East, had umbrellas. They chose to take this precaution against the heat. Almost all of them were still wearing masks. I guess it's a precaution they take to protect themselves from viruses or bacteria.

The closer you get, the more magnificent this place looks. Isn't it impressive how sturdy these columns are? Another thing that impressed me was the reliefs at the joints of the columns. It's wonderful craftsmanship. In a word, it makes you admire it.

This is another view of the temple. I think this is the most beautiful angle. Can you see the human face reliefs at the top of the temple? Perhaps it is the face of a god. In this photo, you can also see people trying to take pictures of the temple from the best angle.

This is the continuation of the temple. There are no massive columns like on the other side, but this part is just as impressive as the previous section. I wish I could have explored the interior.

The temple is almost right on the water, so even though we didn't get any photos with the temple in the background, we took a few with the sea view. If it had been less crowded, it might have been a good idea to take a couple of photos with the temple too.

The sea looks so beautiful, doesn't it? Deep blue. It's wonderful to still be able to see such beautiful colors. The places we went swimming weren't this beautiful.

My advice to you is to read the history of the ancient city before leaving the temple. This way, you can get an idea of what the ancient city used to look like. There is also a map to help you explore the area more easily.

Bonus: The Ancient Harbor Bath is also a 5-minute walk from the Apollo Temple. Unfortunately, you can't go inside it either. I guess there are people who do it illegally because, as you can see in the photo, they seem to have propped up a wooden ladder and used it, but I didn't choose to do that. According to the information board there, the bathhouse was built in the early 2nd century AD and was used until the mid-7th century AD. It definitely has an interesting architecture. You can see the dome structures in the photos.

Antalya maceralarımın 6. bölümünde sizlerle dünyanın en bilinen tanrılarından birinin tapınağını paylaşacağım, Apollon Tapınağı. Gerçekten dünyada antik tanrılar arasında en bilinen ve en çok tapınağı ya da sunağı olan tanrı hangisi? Bunu merak ediyorum. Muhtemelen cevap Zeus'tur.

Tapınağa doğru yürürken başka kalıntılar da gördük. Ne yazık ki hiçbir bilgi levhası yoktu. Bu yüzden bunların ne zamana ait olduğunu bilmiyorum. Özellikle bu tarz az bilinen tarihi yerlere verilmesi gereken değerin verilmediğini düşünüyorum. Bu da beni üzüyor.

İşte tapınağa ait en bilinen yapı. Google'da Antalya Side Apollon Tapınağı olarak arama yaparsanız göreceğiniz görseller genelde buna benzer oluyor. O gün orası çok kalabalıktı. İnsanların sıcağa rağmen burayı gezmesi harika. Gerçi buranın tarihiyle ilgilenen kaç kişi var bilmiyorum. Çoğu fotoğraf çekmek için sırada görünüyordu.

Tapınağın bitişiğinde başka kalıntılar da vardı. Belki bunların üzerinde hala çalışmalar yapılıyordur. En azından etrafının çevrili olması onların korunmasını sağlıyor. Arka plandaki şemsiyeli kişiyi gördünüz mü? Orada özellikle uzak doğudan gelen çok insanın yanında şemsiye vardı. Sıcağa karşı böyle bir önlem almayı tercih etmişler. Neredeyse hepsi hala maske takmaya devam ediyor. Virüslerden ya da bakterilerden korunmak için aldıkları bir önlem sanırım.

Ne kadar yaklaşırsanız burası o kadar görkemli görünüyor. Bu sütunların ne kadar sağlam olduğu çok etkileyici değil mi? Beni etkileyen bir diğer şey ise sütunların birleşme kısımlarındaki kabartmalar. Harika bir işçilik. Tek kelimeyle insan hayran oluyor.

Bu da tapınağın bir başka açıdan görünüşü. Bence en güzel göründüğü açı bu. Tapınağın tepesindeki insan yüzü kabartmalarını görüyor musunuz? Belki de tanrı yüzü. Bu fotoğrafta da tapınakla en doğru açıdan fotoğraf çekmeye çalışan insanları görebilirsiniz.

Burası da tapınağın devamı. diğer taraftaki gibi devasa sütunlar yok ama burası da az önceki kısım kadar etkileyici. Keşke içerisini gezebilseydim.

Tapınak neredeyse denize sıfır, bu yüzden tapınak manzarasıyla olmasa da deniz manzarasıyla birkaç fotoğraf çektik. Daha az kalabalık olsa tapınakla da bir iki fotoğraf çekmek iyi bir fikir olabilirdi.

Deniz ne kadar güzel görünüyor değil mi? Masmavi. Hala bu kadar güzel renkler görebilmek güzel. Yüzmeye gittiğimiz yerler bu kadar güzel değildi.

Size tavsiyem tapınağın yanından ayrılmadan antik kentin hikayesini de okuyun. Bu sayede antik kentin eski halinin nasıl olduğuna dair fikir sahibi olabilirsiniz. Ayrıca etrafı daha rahat keşfedebilmeniz için bir harita da var.

Bonus: Antik Liman hamamı da apollon tapınağından 5 dakikalık yürüme mesafesinde. Ama maalesef onun da içini gezemiyorsunuz. Sanırım kaçak yollarla bunu yapanlar var çünkü fotoğrafta gördüğünüz gibi tahta bir merdiven dayamışlar ve kullanmışlar gibi görünüyor ama ben bunu tercih etmedim. Oradaki bilgi levhasına göre hamam milattan sonra 2 yüzyılın başlarında inşa edilmiş ve milattan sonra 7. yüzyılın ortalarına kadar kullanılmış. Kesinlikle ilgi çekici bir mimariye sahip. Kubbe yapılarını fotoğraflarda görebilirsiniz.
