Yes, different gases reach different flame temperatures affecting snow/ice melt speed:

  • Butane/propane (lighters/torches): ~1,900°C – melts ice fast via direct flame.
  • MAPP gas: ~2,010°C – hotter, near-instant on thin layers.
  • Oxy-acetylene: ~3,500°C – melts thick ice almost instantly.

Snow melts via convection/radiation; intensity + proximity matter most. Gas alone won't "dissolve" environments without sustained heat.
