I have been in the farm.

Yeah, i have missed everyone here on chain!, having been so hooked down by my farm work loads at my many farmlands. The month of March every year has been known to be seed planting time and season.
Seeds not planted at this season may not actually do very well as we assume. Or may have stunted growth thereby not producing adequately, allegedly 😂.

Heavy grasses everywhere in the farmland.

Grasses are being cleared by the man I hired.

We already know the rains are here for us to plant....... So i ceased this opportunity and switched over to my farm work so i can harvest at the appropriate time and season.

This is actually the perfect planting season for bumber harvests we all desire and are expecting very soon! Of a truth, there's, a serious hunger in the land, since the removal of fuel subsidy in Nigeria. Every piece of land is very important to be cultivated on, even if it's vegetable and okra, just do it.!!

These are maize and many other crops, growing very healthy.

I have suddenly graduated from gardening to larger farming facilities, since my sister in-law got married earlier this year, I decided to work on our farmlands, i mean, I have graduated from manually working by farming at my backyard garden to getting some complete plots of landed properties for farm work alone, do it yourself, kind of farming.

My germinated peanut also growing very well.

Wow oooo 😂, this year i have three plots of land in different areas and spaces. I have cultivated so many different crops, I'm so glad to have this time around again to myself, to write about my larger farm work experiences. I also know I could hire some women to cultivate for me from start to finish and be paid, but I wanted to gain the experience and expertise of doing it myself on a larger scale and I'm delighted to have achieved that.

I have compiled this content a long time ago but has been lacking the time to publish it, but Nevertheless, i have less job in the farm now, therefore decided to air my activities. Im glad, like relieved from the chocking tasks of farm work... Wow oooo, wow, wow, i love writing.... It's a great hobby for me..., i resume right away 👏.

I started by clearing the farmland, the grasses were tedious and in everywhere, i decided to hirer a bush clearer, an elderly man who cleared the bushes which attracted some payments and i did pay him.

As you can see him doing the necessary things, i mean, he's here clearing the grasses for a better cultivation and harvests which are the ultimate.

All the cleared grasses were packed up in heaps and in corners where they will get dried up by the hot and tremendous heat of the sun. After this series, i engaged two men for moulds and ridge making, they did and I paid them too. As i and my sister were at the same time and at once planting some needed seedlings, as you can see us doing here.

These are moulds and ridges made for me for right planting.

I was planting pumpkins seedlings here.

I also planted fluted pumpkins, okro, maize, melon seeds, ground nuts, cassava, yam seedlings in my farmland despite the yams i had already planted inside my empty cement sacks at my backyard at home. These ones i totally planted in my farmland outside the yard but in plots of land some where.

Do you know i have planted inside empty cement sacks up to 40 sacks of yam seedlings but in segments, the first segment has all germinated while the second segment are yet to germinate, maybe in few days to come, I'm just delighted to see the vines of my yam seedlings and their vines growing healthier than others. All the seeds i planted are all doing very well, i personally love seeing planted seeds germinations, it's like a hobby for me...😂. I have planted more yam seedlings this year than other years.

You know yams are creeping plants, they have started creeping on the ground already, significantly they need being lifted up and attached to trees. That led me into uplifting the vines from the ground. I mean it's not right to allow your yam vines creep on the ground, it reduces productivity and results into stunted growth which denies them full potentiasl, I have already lifted their vines up on bamboo trees.

Sliced yam seedlings ready for planting.

Take a glance at my yams, vine + bamboo tagging activity taking place here.

Bamboo trees plus vine tagging is another hard farm work entirely and i have been able to achieve it to many of my yam vines.... just take a look, my yams are doing great 👍 👍 😂.

Every crop in my farm are very much grown now getting ready for harvesting, because I started my seed planting very early this year.

All images are mine.

Thank you lovely people, for your time to come around my blog. I appreciate you all, I will also appreciate your lovely comments.

It's usually a good idea to clear the farm before planting. This is actually the month for crop planting wish I'm wishing you well.
