Always lookout for originality and truth in informations you care for
Our society is under attack that we're not aware of. When you give someone who doesn't know a platform that someone who knows is supposed to be, you elevate ignorance as knowledge and wisdom. I was teaching digital marketing a few days ago, and one of the students in the class asked me, "Ma amaka, why is it that whenever we want to run a Facebook ad, we have to submit our documents to Facebook?"
I was confused, so I asked him to explain further. He too was shocked that I'm shocked. How can a pretty girl who claims to know alot not know about this common practice? He went on to explain that whenever anyone wants to run a Facebook ad for real estate - to sell property, the advertiser would have to submit the company registration documents before the ad can be approved.
This student was asking this question with all a sense of conviction. I asked him where he learned that from; he told me that his former digital marketing teacher told him. I asked him if he has tried running a Facebook ad for property ever since; he said no. This is a big problem. This is similar to what's happening online.
Because someone has a lot of followers doesn't mean the person is an expert. Because someone has a verified account doesn't mean the person is an expert. People with no real knowledge parade themselves as experts, but take them away from talking and ask them to do it; only then will you realize that they know nothing. You have to be careful.
