Opening 100x Minor Chests in Splinterlands, Worth The Glint? [EN/PT]

English Version

Today, I bring a report that might interest those who, like me, are trying to maximize their rewards in Splinterlands without spending a fortune. Recently, I saved up 20,000 GLINTs and decided to test my luck by opening 100 Minor Chests in the Glint Shop.

GLINT is the currency we earn by playing ranked battles in Splinterlands.

It replaced the old reward system that involved opening daily quest chests and season-end rewards. This change brought a more balanced and predictable mechanic for players. Unlike the random rewards we had before, we can now choose where to spend our precious GLINTs.

And that's where the Glint Shop comes in the store where we can trade our GLINTs for different types of rewards. In my case, I chose the chest types (Minor, Major, and Ultimate), as well as other valuable in-game items.

Why Open 100 Minor Chests?

The Glint Shop offers three types of chests:

https://splinterlands.com/shop/rewards

  • Minor Chest (200 GLINTs each) – the cheapest option.
  • Major Chest (1,000 GLINTs each) – the mid-tier option.
  • Ultimate Chest (4,500 GLINTs each) – the premium choice.

So why did I go for Minor Chests instead of investing in fewer high-tier chests?

Simple.

Quantity.

By choosing this reward option, I have more chances to get better creatures, although since I started tracking this reward system, it seems more interesting to save up for more certain openings such as legendary cards or Gold Foils.

So, after opening the 100 chests, the results were as follows. A quick reminder to community members who like to share their rewards: use the tool https://splintershare.info/. You can see the shared image below.

  • 28 cards (not an absurd amount, but always good to grow the collection).
  • 3,000 Merits (these are great because they allow purchasing Gladius packs, which can only be used in Brawls).
  • 6x Energy (???).
  • 36 Potions (never too many, right?).

Looking at it objectively, it was a decent result.

Of course, it would have been better to pull some insane legendary card or a super rare loot, but I can't complain. The Merits gave me the chance to grab Gladius packs, and the potions help with future openings.

I don't know if I can say whether it was worth it or not it depends on each player's perspective. If you're looking for consistency and volume, Minor Chests might be a good option. You get more rewards per GLINT spent, and even if the individual quality isn't the best, the quantity makes up for it.

On the other hand, if you're looking for more premium rewards, it might be better to save up for Ultimate Chests. The investment is higher, but so are the chances of pulling something truly valuable.

In this case, I might be happier with the Merits I obtained rather than some of the cards, though I did manage to get a Gold Foil.

In the end, it's worth testing the options and seeing what works best for your playstyle.

Personally, I liked the results and will probably repeat this strategy in the future.

How are you spending your GLINTs in Splinterlands?

Has anyone tried this amount on the other chests?

Recentemente, juntei 20.000 GLINTs e resolvi testar a sorte abrindo 100 Minor Chests no Glint Shop.

https://splinterlands.com/shop/rewards

Simples.

A Quantidade.

Eu, particularmente, gostei do resultado e provavelmente vou repetir a estratégia no futuro.

That is a good strategy, I used to invest earlier but from past few season. I haven't purchased anything. I will see what I can do with that. 😬
