Week 32 [HBD Savings APR, INLEO Referral Program]

The weekend arrived fast or maybe it's just me, lol! It's funny how it felt like I had been under a rock for quite a while yet still watched the days go by swiftly. Grateful nonetheless of all things good and not so.

Since it's Saturday on my side of the world, it means one thing - the weekly update for SSC. It's like a ritual that we do four times a month to kick our arse if we are slacking or pat our back for every lil achievement or progress, encouraging ourselves to do even better. And so without any more nonsensical rambles, let me get on with mine for week 32:

The Hive Power (HP) continues to grow. There was an addition of 191 HP during the week ending at 22,192 from 22,001 in the last update. Still on track with my daily manual power up and hope not to miss a day like in the previous two months. Here's the week's growth chart via Hivestats. An almost constant increase in 5 days.


Meanwhile, my staked LEO had an increase of 30 through manual staking. No more LEO being staked daily but I still try to add a bit at random times, or whenever I remember. It's been decided to grow it without pressure. So for the week, my aggregated Leo Power ended at 20,688 (14,638+6,051) from 20,658 last week.

Still okay I guess :)

And yep, there's the noise going on here on Hive about the HBD Savings Annual Percentage Rate dropping from 20% to 15% yesterday. I was surprised while perusing through my wallet and thought it might have been a glitch but after checking the Witnesses page, I found out some have signaled lower rates between 7%-19%, hence the decrease in the Savings APR. I could not help threading about it after a while.


It's still a good rate for me. There are expectations that it may drop even more so we will see how it goes. The witnesses can signal whatever they want and I believe the change takes effect in real time when enough of them go for a similar rate. Like yesterday, we would be surprised to find out about it.

Coincidentally, my savings interest came a few hours after the APR dropped. So now, my current HBD saved is 1,240 with an increase of 28 from the previous update. Half of the added amount was the interest received. Small but still good!


We have been buzzing out and about IRL these days so I'm not quite updated on what's going around the chain but learned that INLEO rolled out the referral program where they incentivize those who onboard people through their INLEO referral links.


If you are good at getting people to join, you might want to check the details on this post. I noticed some people threading screenshots of their referral dashboards and earning LEO (which they can either hold or sell). This could be another way to get rewarded.😉

Curious question: why would others want to lower the HBD interest rate? That would mean their interest received also decreases.

Perhaps they believe that lowering the HBD APR is good for HIVE (my assumption only)

Hehe. I was also surprised a little bit when I acknowledged about 15% APR although I have nothing to do with it as I don't keep HBD in savings.

I like your approach to grow HP because HP is the key. For HBD 15% is also not bad..I had some HBD in savings but recently converted most of HBD to hive as price is low..

Hmmm, might want to follow a few curation trails :) I follow 3 or 4 so even when I'm away on most hours of the day, my VP is still being used hehe.

Yeah, I do the same, and have been playing the timings of those as well, but no changes, stuck at around 2.5HBD/month.
