The Singing Janitor

Hola, frens :)

It's another beautiful Tuesday and that means time for some cool tunes. We have a discovery this week, thanks to the husband who randomly searched for interesting songs yesterday afternoon while we were having a siesta. He came across the auditions for AGT 2024 (America's Got Talent) and curiously played one of them.

We were wowed or rather, blown away on listening to Richard Goodall's rendition of a Journey's song. The 55-year-old from Indiana was a bit nervous but eventually shook off the nerves and punched on strongly. He owned the stage as soon as he started singing.

Okay, let's watch now and see for yourself how he captivated the audience :)

Cool performance, noh?

Like the judges and the entire room, the Farmboy and I were amazed. He hit all the high notes, didn't he? Even the hard-to-please Simon Cowell was all smiles.😁

It's not shown in the video but in the end, Heidi Klum gave him a golden buzzer, sending him straight to the AGT live shows. How cool is that?

The Singing Janitor said he had been belting out tunes in the school halls for 23 years (referring to the elementary school where he works as a janitor). Accordingly, the faculty, staff, and students encouraged him to audition in AGT. He's got a great support system, I say and I'm glad he listened to them :)

Anyhow, it's time to check his performance during the semifinals, covering Survivor's song (below) which is my second recommended tune for today.

Such an incredible take for one of the iconic songs. The audience were obviously thrilled and so are the judges. The guy has the voice and energy. America loved it they gave Richard enough votes allowing him to advance to the finals where he chose another Journey song to cover.

Let's hear him out, shall we?

He received yet again a standing ovation from the four judges. Cowell saying he's a hero. Howie Mandel predicted Richard will win the AGT season saying, “I think you just sang yourself $1 million.”

America agreed and voted, making him the AGT 2024 Season 19 winner. To watch the reveal, click here.

Richard's rise to fame is quite amazing. I'm glad he took the first plane ride of his life which eventually led him toward the realization of his dreams. He got his break and I only hope and pray he will enjoy his newly-found success.

And there ends my recommendation for the Three Tune Tuesday initiative by Ablaze. Hope you enjoyed these performances as much as we did. Thank you and have a fantastic day, frens!

Wow, what a great voice! How nice that you shared it, sis I don't usually watch those shows but that man has a wonderful voice. How nice that people from the school where he works encouraged him to participate.

Indeed, sis. It was kind of an accidental discovery as we don't watch the shows too, except on that day hehe.
