Snooping on a Pepper Farm

I doodled 6/6 when writing a list of things earlier today. When the hubby asked about the date, I told him it was the 6th, and he missed an event he was planning to attend. So we drove instead to the other town because the old man (my father-in-law) needed some moolah. It was there that I realized it's still the 5th. The online shopping app I've been engrossed with recently was to blame, for they plastered their promo called 6.6 SuperWow Sale on my notification, which made me think it was today, LOL!
Joke aside, it was a lovely Thursday, which allowed me to take a little stroll near my FIL's place while the hubby took care of certain stuff. I was curious to see how they did the mulch on a small farm where they were growing bell peppers. So, taking Yongi with me, we walked through the narrow village road intending to take a peek.
It didn't take us long, and we reached the lowest part of the farm. After looking around for a bit, I took these shots quickly and left soon after, not wanting to be seen by the owner. Although he was an amiable fella, and shares her know-hows with the Farmboy, he might wonder why I was there, lol!

But yes, I got to see how things were done. Mulching is a nice farming technique that helps control the growth of weeds and keeps the harvest clean. I heard that bell peppers are long-lasting plants. When taken care of, they can bear fruit for 9 months to a year, so having mulch around the plots and plants saves one from having to pull or clear weeds now and then.
I also noticed some excess seedlings still on the trays. While we experimented on growing a few plots of similar plants in the past (in the Lil Kingdom), we are less experienced in their care, and we have not used plastic mulch, hence, the snooping, lol!

Anyhow, we had a little chitchat with my FIL afterward, and bade him adieu half an hour later. We needed to pick up some stuff at the farmer's store before they closed for their lunch break. Unfortunately, they were already out when we arrived, so we headed to one of the local food houses where I had pork lechon-vegetable curry.

And I was glad I did, for it tasted heavenly (the hubby agrees when he ate about half of it). It's probably because we haven't had one in ages.
Our LilGuy couldn't join us inside, though. While the place is friendly to furry ones, they have a cat which Yongi dislikes. He gets uneasy each time he sees or smells its presence. So to spare him from unnecessary stress, we let him stay in the car, where he can be at peace. From there, we returned to the farm store, purchased what we needed, picked up some organic veggies at the LaTop store, and then drove home.
The rain came around 4 pm, so a nap ensued. A good day overall!

The vegetable curry looks very delicious and Incould totally relate to the snooping incident.😁. I have snooped countless times with the intents of not wanting to be seen too but the pictures are cool. Good job with the snooping 😂
It was :) Thank you. And I'm glad to learn it wasn't just me who snoops, lol!😅
I appreciate it a lot, thank you❤️
The plastic on the ground to avoid grass is often used, I don't really know if it has downsides that practice... Yea cats and dogs often don't like each other lol
Besides knowing that plastics are not environmentally friendly and add to waste, I don't know whether they have other effects on the plants or the soil.
And yes, most cats and dogs are like that. Although I've seen some that are like BFFs😀
Finally, I come across a dog here like mine who's a true follower of the anti cat rule.
Down with the kitties Yongi!!!
Don't let them furballs win!!!
Haha! They go crazy when a cat's nearby.
Yongi dislikes the cat makes me smile 😁. I've seen some that are friends with each other.
Yes, sis. Some dogs and cats play together. Yongi goes ballistic when he sees one, hehe.
