Small Wins (Week 20)

We were out around 8:30 in the morning intending to visit my parents and check the other house. However, we learned that road maintenance works were ongoing in the area so we figured rescheduling the trip on Monday would be better than being stuck in traffic. So we came back home and did something productive instead. I was chuffed when we finished the weed clearing in the backyard and even made the plant beds before the rain came.

That was a win for the day, yay!😉

The whole afternoon was devoted to resting and planning. The possibility of relocating to a new place arose and it had been keeping my mind on the edge for quite some time now. I like the idea but there's that push-and-pull feeling, maybe because I love our wee kingdom.

It's just one of those sudden dilemmas in real life, but there is no rushing so it makes no sense to be stressed about it. Here on the blockchain, things are good so far and it's that time (again) to evaluate our weekly progress on our targets for the year.

Back in January, I penned down my goals as follows:

  • Main goal: to reach 23k Hive Power by year-end
  • Secondary: to have 33k Leo Power
  • Other: to double my HBD Savings

So where are we now? Let's see...

Staked HIVE (Hive Power)

This has been my priority and I'm glad it is growing nicely. I didn't even realize (until writing this) that there was an increase of 3,142 HP in the last 139 days, representing a 19% growth in the Hive Power. It's a good surprise, I must say.



Meanwhile, the previous week had an addition of 162 HP (as usual from curation, content reward, and manual staking). And yes, I still stake HIVE daily.

  • Current: 19,542 HP
  • Previous Wk: 19,380 HP
  • Growth: 0.835%

Staked LEO (Leo Power)

Growing my Leo Power has been one of my goals since I learned about INLEO (LeoFinance) sometime in April 2022. There was a time when I was buying and staking hundreds of LEO because I was in a hurry to increase my LP, lol!



A total of 3,886 LEO were added from January to now, the majority were from manualstaking. A small percentage is from the HP delegation reward, automatically staked to my account daily.

As for the previous week, there was an increase of 336 LEO, most were staked during the LPUD 3 days ago.

  • Current: 30,036
  • Previous Week: 29,700
  • Growth: 1.13%

None of the LEOs added during the week were bought, mostly from rewards (curation, content, HP Delegation). Not bad, yeah?


HBD Savings

I never had any HBD savings before because I was focused on growing my HP. It wasn't until the APR was increased to 20% (last year) that I decided to save some for passive earnings. But then, most were spent buying LEO (between April and August) so I had to start over in September if I am not mistaken, hence in January this year, I had only 515.



425 was added since (approximately 4.5 months) and in the last week, 58. I went a little crazier, lol!

  • Current: 970 HBD
  • Previous Wk: 912 HBD

Some days ago, I stumbled upon someone who has over 4k HBD sitting idle and it made me wonder why he didn't put them in savings. I didn't check how long he has been keeping it that way but maybe he wants them to stay liquid and readily available when needed. Maybe...

To sum it up, things have been good both irl and on the chain this week (also in the first 5 months of the year) and I'm super grateful. I'm celebrating the small wins, of course, and I look forward to checking off the goals on/or before the year ends. Until then, we'll continue to enjoy the journey.
