Said NO to a 9-5 and Week 13 on SSC

Magandang buhay!

The other day, I received an offer for a position at a dialysis center, which my sister and her partners are opening soon. The package was enticing, with travel incentives and such. After thinking about it for a little while, I politely declined. Returning to the 9-5 lifestyle is the farthest thing in my mind. I may enjoy it for a while, but not for long.

So, thank you for your confidence in me, but sorry, I love my freedom, lol! I asked to join the partnership instead, and it would be nice if I'd be allowed in. If not, then it's okay. It wouldn't hurt at all. At least I tried, hehe!

It's not the first. There had been some other offers since my very early retirement (as others put it), and saying no to them had been the easiest. Just last weekend, after filing my previous company's annual return, my ex-employer insinuated his desire to work with me again soon. While he was a great boss, the idea of staying overseas for employment does not appeal to me anymore. So, another "No" is in order if he sends me a formal offer.

Anyhow, it's a grey Saturday morning for us here. Dark clouds in the sky indicate that rain may fall at any time. Hope it won't, even just for today. We are heading to the other town, and it wouldn't be cool to be out and about in wet weather.

Well, it's the weekend, which means goal time for us in the Saturday Savers Club. It felt like it was just a few days ago when we did an update, but yes, it's already been seven days since. So, here we go with our week 13 numbers:

HBD Savings

  • Current Bal: 1,400 HBD
  • Previous Week: 1,380

There was an increase of 20 HBD during the week, approximately 1.45% from the previous report. With that, we are left with 1,100 HBD to reach our target amount for the year. The purpose of these Savings may change over time, but we will keep adding to it every day.

Sats (BTC)

  • Current Bal: 118,314 sats (0.00118314 BTC)
  • Previous Week: 110,215 sats (0.00110215 BTC)

8,099 sats were added. That's about 7.34% growth from last week. Slowly adding to it on autopilot. I'm not worried about forgetting to buy since it has already been set. My only job is to ensure there is USDT in my Spot wallet, otherwise, any autobuy would not be processed on schedule.

With barely 2 days left in the month, things are looking good so far, but we hope the next quarter and beyond will treat us better.

Hehe. It seems you are determined not to go back in 9-5 job and I think it's natural. Who wants to go back for it. It can be exhausting.
Your savings are growing well. I am inspired to see that.

Work 9-17 or whatever else 8 hours a day is just slavery, you can't even enjoy life... Good for you if you can live without it, here it's all so expensive that both parents must work to keep up

It can be enjoyable at the start but becomes a chore over time to the point you will be dragging your feet each morning.

Walking away from a 9 to 5 isn’t easy, but it’s great that you’re staying true to what works for you. Wishing you success in the partnership if it works out, or let me be more positive and say when it works out
