Rumbles & Flashes [Wet Thursday]

Oh la la... Only four days to go and the new month comes, whew! It's just been ten days since the school year started, and June seems to be going by quickly. That made me look back, and gosh! Have we been mostly lazy this month? Yikes!

Blame the rain!

Speaking of which, a heavy, incessant downpour dominated the day, and made worse by the thunder that scared the sh*t out of the LilGuy. He hid and buried his head under my cardigan because the rumbling became so sudden and loud at some point.

It's one of those days when I wanna sing, "rain, rain, go away..."

Thankfully, there had been no power interruption, even when the rain was too much, and the lightning kept flashing like it was taking snapshots of the downpour. We hope the power lines and such have been fixed reinforced or replaced, for the typhoon season is upon us.

"The heavens must be mad," the new guy whom we contracted to man half of the farms in the property said jokingly, referring to the heavy rains and the accompanying roar of the thunder and lightning.

"No, it's not angry. It must be mourning (grieving) too..." My thoughts wandered in silence, thinking of our uncle who breathed his last early in the morning. The cancer spread so fast that doctors could not do much. It's only been 3 months, but maybe it was his time to rest so he wouldn't be in pain anymore. It's tough, especially for his immediate family, but we pray for strength and wisdom during this difficult time.🙏

Today's unfavorable weather made us postpone going to the wake, but we will drive to their place after my last session tomorrow. Although there are quite a lot on our to-do list for Friday, we can manage most of the important ones, or Saturday will have to be booked too. We will see. Until then, we shall make the most of today...

We only have two seasons here, wet (May to Nov) and dry (Dec to Apr). School last year started in August, but they changed it again, so most schools (excluding colleges/universities) began on June 16

Hehe, children love to sing it when it's raining. I remember singing it too during my childhood. Hope your power was restored.

Thank you. He's now at peace.

Yes, his time came too soon. He was diagnosed in March and had surgery too. Thank you for your thoughts. We believe he's at peace now.

Rain is not bad if there is not power interruption.
Feeling sad to hear about your uncle. Death is something we can't defeat. 3 month time was indeed fast. Naturally it takes more time to spread.

Yes, it can be annoying if the power is out when it's pouring outside. Thankfully, it hasn't happened these days.

Although we know that death is a part of everyone's lifecycle, it's still hard to digest when it happens to someone we know.
