Mr. B's Silent Goodbye [Going AWOL]
Ranting has become rare in our household, but the time has come to do one, because why not? It's free and a good way to let off some steam, lol!
One of our farm boys decided not to return, leaving his work and over $1.6k in cash advances behind. There were no words (he won't pick up our calls), not even a reply to the husband's message.
Little did we know that when he left for the holidays, it would be a permanent vacation, or shall I say, goodbye. Well, I had an inkling when we got home from the family trip and found out he wasn't around (he was supposed to be back on the 3rd). It was confirmed three days later, when he contacted one of his companions and asked them to take over the things he was working on.
The hubby thought he might just be out of funds, and we could send him some for his fare and such, but we didn't hear a word. Darn!
So, what went wrong?
We have absolutely no fracking idea. Maybe he lost interest in working with us? Who knows. We had always been good to them, and unlike other farm bosses, we provided free lodging, kitchen needs (food, etc), and even personal necessities. We share what is in our pantry, and we treat them like family. Yet here he was, abandoning his job and some financial responsibilities.
It's funny though that the husband is still hoping he'll find his way and return one day. Second chances, huh? Okay, fine. It won't hurt. But my trust in him has dwindled, and it won't be what it was before. He left us hanging and didn't even have the decency to say he was not coming back or that he was sorry. "What a j#rk," my head grumbled.
We still wish him well in life, that he may find whatever he seeks, that he may live in peace and bliss.
But yeah, he's still an inconsiderate j$rk to me, lol!
Thankfully, one of my brother's boys came to continue the job, so the primary concern was solved. Stress gone. Rant over. Thank you😅
Terrible of him to have left without a word. I hate it when people just disappear ,atleast a little explanation would've done the trick
He did say he would be back when he asked for cash. But he may have changed his mind. Even so, he would have contacted us at least.

But if he doesn't want to work again, it's fine,there's always someone who's better for the job and is willing to work wholeheartedly
In this world there is no empty space for anyone as everyone can be replaced and so I think it's good the let them go who want to go. Keeping them will bring trouble for the future. That's my opinion.

He is inconsiderate, selfish and unappreciative. With the level of relationship you had with them, you deserve to be informed before hand. Just as you rightfully said, if there is any second chance, I can never trust that person again. That's who I am.

Well it's a good thing someone else took over the responsibility. It was wrong for him to leave like that without saying a word but I'm not one to judge, maybe if I had his own side of the story lol. But it's so good to know that you treat your workers well and it's not your fault someone left without notifying you
Ain't judging too, since we don't know why he didn't return. My hunch is that he didn't want to work for his cash advances, lol!
Going without giving reason is not a good one, well is left for and worse think that could happen to him is to regret what he has done and the cry of had I know because he already replaced himself with someone else
We don't know his reasons, but at least he made it known through his companions that he isn't coming back, so we are not left wondering if he was alright.
Yeah that means he's made up his mind before leaving
I don't know what to say sis. At least you know he's ok since he messaged one of his co-workers to take over his job. Just sad that he didn't have the courage to say his quitting and settle his financial debt😐.

It’s never easy when someone leaves like that without any word, especially after being trusted and helped. I understand your feelings, but it’s kind of you to still wish him well.
The good thing is, he let his companions know he was not coming back. Otherwise, we would be left wondering what happened to him
Was he under a contract? If so he owes you some money for leaving today for today... Anyway a lot of people are weird, it's not really that strange it happened
We don't do written contracts. Yeah, there is nothing we can do about it. At least he notified his co-workers, so we won't be worried about his whereabouts.
Imagine crossing paths again with him and how he would feel about it, guessing it might be awkward for him. People can do unpredictable things sometimes even when they have all of the "good things" on their side.
Yes, it will be awkward, but he'd still be welcomed if he wishes to come back. No hurt feelings, lol!
That sucks, especially the part where he just ghosted y'all. I know that it happens these days but it's disrespectful. Hopefully you guys can one day get closure on why the hell he just up and left, even if he doesn't come back. It sucks to not know!
