Monday's Hunts

Magandang buhay 💗

It's a lovely Wednesday morning here in DD, and there is plenty of sunshine, like the previous days. Well, at least the rain visited us late afternoon yesterday, giving everything outside some natural refreshments, all thanks to Mama nature.

Anyhow, on Monday, we dropped by at the supplier of aggregates in the other town to follow up on some deliveries. The hubby went out to check things with the guys while Yongi and I stayed inside the car. The sun was scorching hot and we didn't wish to be stepping on dust and sand everywhere.

Looking out, I noticed the shadow of the loader and that of the motorbike in the distance. Automatically, I took my phone out, tapped the camera icon, and clicked... clicked... clicked.

I zoomed a little and took another shot.

And one more, this time attempting to photograph the shadows underneath the equipment. This was my fastest shadow hunt, lol!

From there, we drove to my sister's clinic to drop off some stuff, and while the hubby was pulling over, the shadows of the iron bars and that of the red SUV (including the reflections of things in its body and windows) got my attention so I wasted no time and snapped this picture.

Next stop was to have halo halo for takeaway. We then drove away, crossing the town border. We had a spot in mind where we would enjoy the cold treat. On arriving, I took out my cup for a little photoshoot with the shadows in the background.

There is plenty of shade in that curve, with trees lined along the roadsides. The air is fresh with pine scents, so we usually pull over for a quick break or nibble on some snacks, especially when the sun is high.

"Yikes, there is no ice cream on this one," the Farmboy commented, referring to the halo halo. He expected it had a scoop or two, considering the price ($2 each cup). "At least it had Stik-O," I teased. That reminded him of the American Dad who vacationed with his wife in the Philippines and returned to the States with a luggage full of Stik-o packs, so his kids were jumping with joy.

After enjoying our treats, we continued on our way home, stopping for gas and then buying hooks at another shop, where I snapped this pic of a pickup truck (with a Raffy Tulfo sticker on its door). I was aiming for its shadow and didn't realize there were reflections of trees in its windshield until I uploaded it and was drafting this.

Well, that was my Monday, although not all of it, lol! This is my participation in the fun SMASh or Shadow Hunting initiative by Melinda. Thank you for coming along, and here's to a fantastic midweek!

It's a cold treat with crushed ice, evaporated milk or coconut milk, and other ingredients like ube jam, sweetened kidney beans or garbanzo beans, coconut strips, sago, jelly, pinipig, boiled taro or soft yams in cubes, flan, some fruit preserves and then usually topped with a scoop of ice cream.

The stik-o is one fun stick, noh? lol!

No ice cream for $2 👀 that’s rough, but at least the Stik-O made up for it a little. snacks are good with bringing back random memories though

I think they forgot to add the ice cream, lol! And yes, food does that and it's nice to remember some of our fondest memories through them.

I haven't seen a desperate shadow hunter like you who are not ready to miss any opportunity to capture any shadow.
Ice cream looks good and fortunately, I have ice cream in my fridge. Now I should go to take a bite from it. Thank you for the reminder as I almost forgot that there were ice cream in my fridge😅. !LOL

Good night, dear friend @ifarmgirl

It's so good that the rain has cooled the afternoon a bit.

A beautiful way to start a sunny day, sipping a delicious beverage and taking shadow shots.

Beautiful collection of images.

Have a beautiful evening.
