Incentivizing Comments Thru CR [Testing it Out]
It feels like only yesterday when I read Acid's post tossing the idea of a feature that rewards those who comment under our posts so I was wowed two days ago when I learned that it is already a reality here on Hive. It's been running for over a week now (I'm late to know, but probably still earlier than most😊). It was actually announced 12 days ago but I must have been under a huge rock to have not read or heard about it, lol! But yeah, thanks to HiveTrending for working on it in collaboration with Acid.
It is my practice to upvote comments on my posts. It's my way of appreciating those who read (or visit) my content. Most of the time, my voting mana gets wrecked, especially after curating the comments (usually around 27-30% upvote for each comment) and upvoting the commenters' posts. So I was chuffed when CommentRewarder (CR) came along.
What is it?
It's a bot that rewards comments. It helps authors incentivize their engagers without worrying about the "dust" threshold. Read this for more detailed info.
I adore how uncomplicated it is to use.
Yep, that's how easy-peasy it is! No technical know-how is required and it can be done in all frontends too! Although the CR icon only displays on Peakd.
One thing I like about the service is that the commenters partake or share in your content reward. They will receive them as tips (HIVE and HBD) as you receive your post's payout. That's quite sweet, in my opinion :)
Anyway, yesterday was my first time trying it out. It makes me glad that I can now upvote replies to my posts with a lower percentage (too insignificant % they may seem) especially when my VP is down but the commenters will still receive some rewards on the post's payout time. Of course, I can also increase the vote percentage when my mana is high enough (rewards above the dust threshold) which means commenters will also receive payouts from my curation, aside from the ones through the CommentRewarder.

Everything begins with an idea indeed. CommentRewarder is an excellent feature that was born out of one. So if you have some ideas but don't know how to execute them, toss them out because someone around might be able to help :)
CR is a useful tool/service or feature we now have on the chain, thanks and kudos to brilliant thinking and collaborative minds that made it happen. You rock! Testing it out was quite exciting and felt a bit more special. Perhaps you want to try it out too.😉

I haven't tried using it but already got a reward from engaging for people who try it. It's actually good and I feel that it is an effective way for people to increase engagement.

Indeed! I always feel that engagement on Hive is just quite low (or maybe sa akin lang) and now I think people will be he more engaged.
This is a clear outcome of intelligent brainstorming from those that brought up the idea.
It's very great and can help boost effective engagements on posts in the blockchain.
I wouldn't say I will try it out because I don't really have appreciable HP and votes worth giving out to those who visit and comment on my post. I feel replying them is still nice.
But CR is a nice feature. I read about it from one of my friends too, @justclickindiva and now I'm seeing you write about it again.

That is one of the main reasons it was created mate, since you can't vote the comments up past the threshold, you use small votes to direct the beneficiary rewards where to go as tips.

It's an awesome tool, and just as Acid mentioned, it's a way for users with less voting power to tip those who engage or comment meaningfully. No worries though if you can't use it yet 😉

Let's see what happens and if post are not invade by comments farmings people. In other hand, not many small or new users know about this new Feature.
Authors can choose which comments to reward. And we can distinguish those who read the post from the ones who didn't :)
so the reward that the commenter gets is a fraction of the author's reward which is distributed through beneficiaries?
I think they get the exposure lately since I read some of the authors that I follow shared about it.

Yes, that's correct. It's good that others are also sharing about it. The more people that learn about the feature/tool and use it, the better :) I like that we don't create more HIVE (token) when we share the rewards that way.

This is nice, and it works great with the "Default beneficiaries" setting from some of the front ends. Peakd allows up to 8 default beneficiaries to be set so that you don't have to bother with the extra click.

That's a wonderful inception on the hive chain. Those tippings may be dust yet it helps to strengthen our engagement. Adding to that I also love commenting on people post who are ready to engage with reply and I must say you are one of those.

If my upvoting power is quite low, I just give tokens to my commenters, but I always upvote the articles I read or those that catch my interest.
