Field Thoughts [Desire Awakened]

Magandang buhay!
Aah, the smell of freshly cut grass fills the air!
The weather in DD is pretty nice today, and Mr. B started preparing the field for a new crop. Part of that was cutting tall weeds and grasses with, well, a grass cutter, which makes his work a lot easier. That also spares him from the need to wait for a week if he were to use weed control. At least he doesn't have to. At his speed, it might take him two or three days to complete the cutting job.
He worked a bit odd previously; most times, he would stay in bed late or throughout the day, and then go out around evening time to do his bidding, especially on hot days. He's doing things differently this time, so it's a good change.
Anyway, speaking of fields, let me share some snaps of beautiful, vast green rice farms. I have mentioned a couple of times that expansive lands often take my breath away (literally and figuratively). It always amazes me to lay eyes on them. At times, I would wish we could live in the lowlands where such stretchy fields are found.

We are in a mountainous region in the country, and rice farming isn't common here. While I love the vegetable farms, the appeal of rice fields is quite different. They seem to promise something great or a surprise on the horizon, hehe!

I have never walked through a paddy field before. It's just crazy that although they are pretty accessible to us whenever we travel to the lowlands, we never get to do it. But yes, I hope one day, I'll be able to experience it. Such would be a dream come true for me.

That reminded me of my other desire to experience rice planting, which I'm yet to do to this day. Next year, I hope.
Until then, we continue to appreciate life as it is.

What you gonna seed there? Weed control can be comfortable but it's all chemicals you end up eating after with your crops...
Rice fields have their own fashion
They will be growing potatoes🤩
Yes, that's the cons of weed control. It affects, even the crops.
Which potatoes? Yellow, red or violet?
We only do yellow potatoes. It must have been ages since I last saw violet potatoes being grown here.
