Crocheted Flower & Double Shadows

Hello world :)

Except for some kids on their way to school and a few vehicles passing by the road below our abode, it's a pretty quiet midweek morning in DD. I was up early hoping to watch the sunrise but the sky is a bit grey so no chance today.

And so I'm back to my laptop, tapping the keyboard gently not wanting to bother the two guys in the room (hubby and Yongi) who are still sleeping soundly. I'm yet to have my own little corner in the house for my computer so doing my thing in the bedroom for the time being.


Anyway, today is about shadows inspired by the crocheted flower that my niece, Kits made and gifted to Mom in the hospital (the collage above). While I knew of my nibling's creative talents, I was still surprised she crochets. Mother was a very proud granny saying there was another beautiful piece in her bedroom. Aha! So Kits is spoiling her with lovely lil-crafted flowers!

But yes, it was sitting on Mom's hospital table when I noticed it cast a shadow and quickly took 3 pics of it, lol!


And the succeeding faint shadows were photographed when we came out of the restaurant to our parked cow along the highway during our trip to LTB sometime last month.

I was carrying Yongi in my arms when I noticed them. The hubby was ahead of us so his shadows were nowhere. But why the two human shadows? It made me wonder who the other one was so I moved a bit and it did too. Aha! So I had double shadows!


There was a pickup truck behind me that also cast a shadow.


I was fascinated with the double shadows and moved here and there a bit, trying to see how the other one came about. If someone was observing during that time, he might have thought I was being weird.😅 While the shadows are faint and quite difficult to discern, I just have to include them, haha!


On reaching the car, I could not hold my little wonderment and voiced it out loud like a kid. "Why do you think I have two shadows?" the question intended for the hubby.

"That means there are two sources of light giving you two shadows." He answered nonchalantly as he started the engine. The restaurant had outside lighting so perhaps he was right. We drove off soon after.

The first picture made me remember how i use to knit with knitting pin when i was in secondary school and doing that with my friend to make little wrist band and small bag. What a nice way of remembering things. This is really awesome and i love your creativity. Top notched

Yes, I like quiet neighborhoods in the countryside. Kits did great indeed. I can't even crochet or knit a flat thing, lol!

Hehe, yeah. Kits never ceases to amaze me. She drove to the hospital from school each evening to feed her granny :)

I love the crocheted flower and Kit really has an eye for good colours. Momma should be very happy to have her grandchild make this delicate craft for her specially.

Double shadows are rare...
The light has to be hitting you at an angle that isn't that easy to get (unless planned)
