Controversial Stuff and Such [Week 35]

There's some controversial stuff I've heard lately about a couple (contractors) who were interviewed on national TV, where they flaunted their 100+ luxury cars (each model or edition comes in two colors - black and white, or red). Accordingly, their purpose with the interview was to inspire or motivate people, but they caused an uproar instead.

Why?

Because when asked how they went from lacking to having so much (billionaires), they were honest enough to say it was when they started taking government contracts/projects. That doesn't require extra brain power for anyone to understand, or does it? Reading between the lines, it's as if they blatantly admitted stealing public funds (people's taxes) and splurging on personal luxuries.

Crazy, huh?

We didn't watch the interview because we knew we'd be disgusted. But since many people did, the family is now a subject of mockery and sarcasm on social media. We couldn't help wondering whether the couple would be subject to an audit or a probe. We'd be very delighted if they were legally scrutinized.

Anyway, 'nuff of that before my BP shoots up, lol! Since it's the weekend, it's time for our weekly tradition: progress update on our SSC goals, for week 35, if I'm not mistaken.

Savings

  • Current Balance: 2,055 HBD
  • Previous Week: 2,030 HBD

25 HBD has been added in the week. That's an average of 3.57 HBD a day. I'm so chuffed that we are already inching towards September and nothing has been withdrawn from the savings, so we will continue adding to it.

Although I'm considering using half of the daily HBD rewards to acquire some SURGE, LeoStrategy's stable-ish coin that earns an interest of 16.67% PA paid weekly (every Monday) in either HBD or LSTR.

Sats

  • Current Balance: 205,546 sats
  • Previous Week: 200,122 Sats

Bought some 5K+ sats when BTC hit $110k. Little did I know that the price would drop even more. It's okay, though. I may enable the auto-buy on the CEX again one of these days.

Hive Power

  • Current Balance: 27,882 HP
  • Previous Week: 27,712 HP

There's an addition of 170 HP during the week. While I didn't include this on my list of goals on the Saturday Savers Club chart, I am intentional about growing it. Just a little over 2k HP more to hit 30k, which means I need to stake an average of 125 HIVE per week. That's achievable with the current price of our coin.

And that's pretty much it for the week. I'm super grateful and looking forward to an exciting new month as it comes. Will the alt season come by then? We shall see.

That couple really crossed a line. Bragging about taxpayer funded wealth is tone deaf and honestly kind of gross. Social media roasting is fully deserved in my opinion

Hahaha this is a laughable one but the thing is that they are not even ashamed when caught in the stealing. Keep the the savings going you shall get there

They got caught in their own tongues, so to speak. It will be interesting to see how things go for them if they get under legal scrutiny.

Yes. I think they are partners with the corrupt contractors.

Bummer they had to flaunt their material wealth on National TV, but I guess people needed to be reminded what governments do behind close doors. Always and very inefficient spenders :)

Yes. People are aware that governments and contractors are corrupt, but going on TV to flaunt the riches is just plain stupidity and an insult too.

As per the host it is supposed to inspire from "RUGS to RICHES" yet come on, in just that a couple of time after having a government projects ..viola 🤩😍.. their way of living is tuloy tuloy na ang pagbabago!.. other comment says it's from "ROBS TO RICHES" anyways it's under controversies indeed. Same with you we will be delighted if they will legally scrutinized.

Anyways, as a newbie I am motivated with your Savings, Sats, Hive Power..not familiar yet with this platform. Surely, I can learn ❤️
