Colors of Bahong

Happy new week, frens!

The day is looking lovely despite the early morning drizzles. I hope everything is going well on your side of the world just as it is here.

Anyhow, from our errands in the city, we took the longer route just so we would not get caught in the bad traffic. And while we were traversing the streets of Bahong, we noticed the cool artwork along the fencing and could not help but take pictures of them.

While captured while on the fast moving vehicle and not the best shots, I think they are still worth sharing.

This was the signage indicating what place it was.

Most of the artwork depicts the locality's old tradition and culture, including its livelihood.

Bahong is known for its cut flowers cultivated in greenhouses or in the open fields. They supply the nation's capital (Manila) with hundreds of boxes every day which are then sold to the various markets (i.e. Dimasalang being the most known place for flower traders).

Pardon me for the pictures as they were taken while on the speeding car. Couldn't take a snap of them fast enough, lol!

Based on the signatures on some of them, the murals were created by various artists. I could not find information on them however, but at least they indicated which ones were their works. These were during the pandemic year (between 2021-2022).

And let me just share this last capture. The cam caught a woman hopping onto a jeepney, lol!

This is the place where the artworks are found. Obviously, I missed lots of the murals. Screenshot via Worldmappin.

Most fences along La Trinidad (our region's capital and also the town where Bahong is located) are colored with different masterpieces of local artists (both amateurs and professionals). I have shared some of the painted walls in the past and may still be writing about them in the future as I have a few more pictures from different streets so do bear with me.😃

Thank you and have a glorious Monday :)

Selling flowers as livelihood is a rather subtle way of getting by...

Love the murals... They were quite entertaining ✨

Cut flowers are usually expensive in the market so it's no surprise that people in that part of LTB are mostly affluent.

Thanks for the DOOK :) Some !PIZZA for you :)

Yeah. The artists creatively expressed their imagination through their work on that stretchy fence.

From the last photo, it seems the place is a community on its own, it looks big.
Those were nice shots and didn't look blurry as I expected

I thought the lady hopping into the jeepney is part of the murals. Hehe😁. Maybe during those times( pandemic) that people had more free time that they decided to draw and paint the wall.♥️
Those murals are cool and pretty sis.

Haha oo nga, natawa ako nung nakita ko 😅 True sis, may isang place na puro about mental health yung murals, gawa din nung pandemic years. Siguro it was their way of encouraging people to think positively.

A lot of people rediscovered themselves during the pandemic season, I also discovered a talent I never knew I had, from staying indoors then. These murals are really so beautiful.
