A Bit Overwhelmed

That's how I would describe my first day of the week.

I had another rough night with the LilGuy (2 nights in a row). He kept whimpering and crying. Maybe his wound is giving him discomfort. The husband is down with a nasty fever, too. It is only Monday, and it feels like I have been through many things the whole week, lol! What are the odds that my two boys are sick at the same time?

It's not nice when someone in the family isn't well, as it affects my overall disposition. The good thing is that they are both willing to get well very soon. They take their meds religiously and rest more, especially in the afternoon.

Despite that, I still managed to do some DIYs. But then, a little accident had me squeaking in pain in the afternoon. A nail punched a hole (two actually) into my pinky finger. Ouch! Ouch! Lol!

I was wearing gloves, but it still went through. It's nothing serious, though. I'll live. The husband squeezed the blood to clean or drain out any debris and, most importantly, avoid any infection. I'll stay vigilant, of course, because we never know. Although my wounds usually heal quickly. I am thankful for it because it means my blood sugar levels are in the normal range.

That reminded me of my sister's friend (I know him too) who passed away recently due to tetanus complications. He was diabetic, and he may have ignored a wound that caused more issues and cost him his life. As we know, healing is slow and hard for diabetic patients. It's saddening, but such is life.

He wasn't the first person I knew who had such a case. And the only reason I could think of is that more often than not, we become complacent and say it's okay or just a minor thing, and never do anything until it's too late. This is a note to self not to downplay anything, especially when it comes to health.

Yes we shouldn't downplay anything especially when it comes to health. I wish him a speedy recovery.
