15 to Forever
Oh la la! Hello world!
15 years ago today (tomorrow, that is, as I'm writing this on the 7th), they stood before many and made a vow to hold and to cherish each other until death do they part. It's quite unbelievable that the years seemed to have flown by, yet it doesn't feel that long for her because she still feels like she's 30! She's kidding, not!😅
A decade and a half of riding along the tides of life. It hasn't been all smooth sailing, but they are blessed to have come this far and are still together, writing their story one day at a time.
Anyhow, the milestone, if I can call it that, inspired me to share three timeless romantic ballads for the Three Tune Tuesday initiative by Ablaze. Initially, I thought of searching for tunes with "Fifteen" in them, but nah!
So here's tune 1 with Diana Ross and Lionel Richie with their heartfelt rendition of the so-called greatest song duet of all time, a "super ballad overflowing with drama and tenderness."(src)
Endless Love
Accordingly, Richie wrote the lyrics and recorded with Diana in 1981. The single was used as a soundtrack of the film "Endless Love", an adaptation of a novel with the same title. The song was the second biggest-selling single of the year and Diana's best-selling single in her entire career.
While various artists covered the passionate song, including Luther Vandross and Mariah Carey, Lionel & Shania Twain, Boyce Avenue & Connie Talbot, etc, I think Diana and Lionel's did the most emotionally charged version.
On to the second tune, a beautiful song by Fhiona Ennis and Thomas Maguire, recorded in 2010.
We're Still Together
Something in the lyrics makes my heart flutter and feel some kind of nostalgia. The song paints a story of love, partnership, and commitment, navigating the challenges, weathering the storms of life over the years, and finding themselves still together despite the time that has passed.
Indeed, it is a lovely anniversary tune, a tale of a couple's enduring bond.

While these two might not be well-known worldwide, they are one of Ireland's most beloved Country music duos.
And... the last tune, a classic country song, its lyrics summing up a beautiful love story that stood the test of time.

The original version was recorded in the early '90s, but I found this newer, live, heartwarming performance in 2010 by the same artist, Vince Gill (the country male singer with the most Grammy Award, 22 in total), surrounded by country folks who seemed to be feeling and connecting to each word.

The song has a timeless appeal and is said to be one of the most sought-after anniversary tunes. Ironically, the singer's marriage (for which it was written) ended in 1997, barely 6 years after its release.
Well, I love it so much that I played it on repeat, remembering all the couples I know whose relationships are still going strong and true even after 20, 30, or 40 years. So, let me end this by raising a glass to all of them!🥂

And wahhh, Endless Love is the best. One of my fav to put me into sleep haha, like a great lullaby. Its a love song but has really great melody. Its same with the third song. I'm noy that familiar with rhe second song though.
