The Guilty Pleasure Trap: How Reality TV Shows Feeds Our Voyeuristic Desires for Lives We Don't Live

I've watched a lot of shows on television but there's a kind of genre that engage almost every household and that is mostly dramas but another popular one is reality shows

I've seen people watching reality shows from years like I personally know some of my relatives who have been watching one particular reality show since last 15 years or more

Since there's new season every year and most of the time there's same similar chaos and drama in the reality show yet people watch it because of the new faces and that so called chemistry between characters

I used to watch Reality Shows

Before the Netflix era we had reality shows on television the one that is popular in the south Asian countries is big boss

We've watched this reality show since I was kid like family used to watch it and I just happen to be there sometimes and it got my attention

When they yell at each other and are mad at someone for being chaotic and not doing the work they're supposed to do while on the other corner there's those two lovebirds in each other arms singing lullabies despite of the ongoing chaos like they don't care at all

Everyone loves that kind of chaos and viewership of these reality shows has never declined despite of years of streaming to the same audience

I've realised people are more interested in the lifestyle they don't have like you're more interested in watching someone else live a life on that reality show

I was always told to go back in room and sleep whenever I was caught lurking and watching that show because they know entire thing is too toxic that a teenager or kid shouldn't watch.

Nowadays most reality shows are scripted

I don't believe in these reality shows anymore because I know most of these are now scripted and the way that's scripted is like clear, the shows do what audience want to see

More relationship that are unexpected and the more surprisingly someone cheats the better it gets for audience and that's being encouraged nowadays

Making cheating normal and dating another trend like you're just supposed to pick someone today and another one for tomorrow it's weird.

Compared to reality shows back then where they used to spend days, weeks together and get to know each other, there was some chemistry but that's all different now

They show more toxicity and cheating culture in the shows to target audience and guess what people seems to like that more and there's always some sort of videos from a reality show on trending every year.

I haven't watched single reality show in like three years and I won't waste my time on it since it's not worth it but what do you think about it? How's it in your perspective, do share in the comments.

that's all folks.

Hello @idksamad78699
Most TV shows today are toxic and superficial, normalizing unhealthy relationships. This can have a negative impact on children.
