I've been living as a tenant my entire life from the time when I was kid to even now we're still tenants living on rent and throughout these years always have tried to save the money

to make that dream of owning a house possible but y'all know housing market price is only on the rise and it is becoming more and more difficult to own a house in this era.

Even those who are in their 30s aren't able to own a home until now.

Living as a tenant isn't a bad idea only if you're living in a home where the owner doesn't bother you and you can spend some years or as long as you want to easily.

The Rent Culture: Finding Home on a Rent

Majority of people in our area or let's say in this country are living on rent and don't own any house in the city though they might have their own home in the village

But they move to city for education, jobs and other essentials.

Nowadays I'm also finding a home on rent and it has been quite exhausting even though there are plenty of homes out on rent

But they all are out of budget demanding more than what they should.

So moving to a new home is quite difficult as long as I don't find a house that seems reasonable.

Currently We split Bills

The place where we're living currently on rent is quite good and has been a peaceful experience cause our owner doesn't live in the same house/building

So he only visit for rent once in a month on every 10th and I pay that on time like if he's coming on 10th I'll pay him that day

Delaying that rent will only make it difficult for me to live in that house as the owner will say find a new home for yourself.

But currently we're splitting bills of electricity, gas as we share apartment

And our electricity and gas consumption is pretty low cause we all go to work and there's no one at home almost entire day

Yet we pay half of the bill which is something I'm kinda not in favour.

Like they should pay what they consume but I'm paying their bills as well which is really not helping me anymore as they are careless about consumption, carelessly using electricity and gas so yea that's one reason I'm in search of a new home.

You don't really have to worry about much

While living on rents one thing you can be at peace is you don't have to worry about if your fan has stopped functioning or the roof has started leaking

The simple thing we do here is get it fixed from anyone

And you'll just pay less in next month rent so the owner bear expenses of things that stops working in your home

As well as if you've a good owner and paint doesn't look well you can easily request owner and if he do have shame he'll get that house painted but you just have to push it hard sometimes otherwise they're like next month, or next month.

Wrapping Up...

The only thing that sucks being a tenant is that you don't have a permanent residence, growing up I've moved from one place to another

Can't call anyone best friend from my childhood cause of never being in the same place

And there's more you don't have permanent residence so it becomes difficult when all of a sudden you're told to find a new home cause owner wants to increase the rent 2x and there's someone willing to pay.

That's all and wonder how is the rent culture in your side of the world. Do share about it in the comments.

I totally get you! Living on rent gives you some freedom, but it also comes with a lot of headaches, especially when the landlord raises the price or when bills aren’t split fairly. Here in Brazil, many people face the same issues, and finding a good, affordable place is always a challenge.
