I Walked 30 Kilometers After Work — Then an Angel Stopped

There are a lot of good people and the bad people around the world and I've met both kind of people and that's life, not everyone is good, not everyone is bad but equally human

and have become what they are because of the way they had lived their life, the kind of people they've spent their time with have impacted

As they say you become what you eat, same goes for you become what you think or your company.

The rare acquaintance where you met people who are just too good that you'd feel like they're an angel and some weeks ago something similar happened in my case.

Going Home from Work Midnight

The worst thing about doing night shifts are that you'll have to leave for home when everyone is sleeping and you'll reach home when everyone will be going to work

While you're going to sleep and couple weeks ago I did my shift and now it was time for me to go home

Unfortunately I haven't had my bike with me and thought I'd go with co-worker friend but he didn't checked in that day

So now I was like I'm cooked cause at like 3:30 am there's no cab or metro anything and just somehow started walking back to home

As I've been a walker my entire life I don't mind walking for long I went from my workplace to all the way like 20-30km on my feet

Started walking at past 3:30 and was at the middle of the way at 6am and still walking as I'm not someone who would ask for anyone help otherwise I'd have took a lift if I wanted to

Someone stopped when I needed

It ain't easy walking 30+ kilometres after doing a 9hours shift and that too closing shift but somehow I still walked half way and was still going

Until someone stopped by me and asked where you heading all hy yourself, walking in this cold? Yea, the peak winter is like getting frozen in the middle of road

I was like just when I was thinking of sitting down and doing some rest you stopped by like an angel and it would've been easy for me to just get a lift

But I was like if I stayed on the same place, I won't go nowhere so it's better to keep walking and if it's in my fate that I'd be home than I'd be anyways.

Men used to go to war and now can't walk from one place to another? I still see some people who go city by city just walking on feet though I know it's waste and not something smart because we made cars and shit for ourselves, so use that instead.

If it wasn't that guy than I'd be home way too late but somehow reached at 6 and half, still about an hour and 30 minutes late but had a long sleep that morning.

Anyways I wonder if you've been in a situation like this too? And how long you could walk on your feet? Pretty sure there are plenty of strong people who have done it for long, do share about it in the comments.

that's all folks.

Really inspiring story. Walking such a long distance after a night shift shows strong mental resilience, not just physical strength. I liked how you highlighted that sometimes “angels” appear as ordinary people at the right moment. It’s a great reminder to keep moving forward and trust the journey. Thanks for sharing this real and human experience on Hive.
